Hart Armaments is a gun maker who doesn't particularly care about what happens to their guns after they're bought, and the only requirement to purchase from the company is that the buyer can't be a Rapist or from Los Angeles.
Because of this, Hart-Arms has decided to expand it's market to include low-budget insurgencies around the world. The "Equalizer" bolt action rifle is a very cheap .308 rifle, costing less than 10 dollars to manufacture a single unit. Despite the low cost, the Equalizer is a very accurate and durable rifle.
An accessory rail has been built into the design so that the user can adapt most add-ons that they might... find... in the field. The gun is clip loaded and features a fixed SMLE style magazine.
The CEO of Hart Armaments has an old Mauser K98k from the Second World War sitting behind their desk in their office. On this Mauser is fitted a most peculiar scope, a ZF-41. One fine day, the CEO decided to design an updated version of the same scope. Specifically, one that would have less extreme eye relief constraints, and was magnified to 2x rather than 1.5x. The result can be seen on the lower rifle.
There is a port on the barrel, this feature was not included anywhere in the blueprints, and no one can figure out why it's there.
