Another shot taken with the old 5mp Kodak, from the window of the car. It was less vivid before I put it through the equalize function in PS.

Nowrūz (Persian language: نوروز [noʊruːz]), meaning 'New Day') is the traditional ancient Iranian festival and also the start day of Iranian "New Year".
Nowruz is celebrated and observed by Iranian peoples and the related cultural continent and has spread in many other parts of the world, including parts of Central Asia, South Asia, Northwestern China, the Crimea and some ethnic groups in Albania, Bosnia, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia.
Nowruz marks the first day of Spring and the beginning of the year in Iranian calendar. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox, which usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day depending on where it is observed. As well as being a Zoroastrian holiday and having significance amongst the Zoroastrian ancestors of modern Iranians, the same time is celebrated in the Indian sub-continent as the new year. The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year and Iranian families gather together to observe the rituals.
The term Nowruz in writing, first appeared in Persian records in the second century AD, but it was also an important day during the time of the Achaemenids (c. 648-330 BC), where kings from different nations under the Persian empire used to bring gifts to the emperor also called King of Kings (Shahanshah) of Persia on Nowruz.
The UN's General Assembly in 2010 recognized the International Day of Nowruz, describing it a spring festival of Persian origin which has been celebrated for over 3,000 years. In 2009 Nowrūz was officially registered on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Since 2010, the United Nations General Assembly recognizes March 21 as the "International Day of Nowruz".

This is the second photo in my series that was taken at Melcher's Hütte on the Ascension Day.
Two cloud layers have formed at different heights and both have been illuminated by the rising sun.
What a firework of colors!
I mostly edited this photo in Darktable. HDR, retouching and color balancing are much easier to do than with GIMP.
The tone value equalizer module was particularly helpful this time.
Finally, in GIMP, I sharpened, applied Dodge & Burn, Clarity, and Local Contrast.
In fact, I fiddled with this photo for two weeks before finally liking it.
The previous attempts were either too colourful, too pale, too dark or too bright, the trees on the right edge are submerged, the structures in the clouds were lost... - I'm really happy that I'm finally satisfied.
I hope you like the result as much as I do.
Thank you very much for stopping by, for your likes and comments.
I am always very happy.
Stay healthy and take care of yourselves.
Have a nice weekend.

Bright pink rhododendrons are in bloom right by my house. They were the perfect subject to test out my old/new camera I was given. Unfortunately, this will be my only photo taken with the camera. I feel more comfortable with the smaller Canon camera I use. Anyway...please enjoy!
The flowers are my own. The filters, frames, and canvas texture are from Photoshop.

On our last trip to the South West of the USA we also passed the "Moon" (see picture, a panorama of 8 vertical shots, original 18720 x 7214 pixels, 119 MB JPG).
Unfortunately, Cainville Reef Road (or West Factory Butte Road) was not as easy to handle as it is on the web. At least 3 places were the pure madness, including a barely surmountable washed out rock, level of about 70 cm, which I could make passable after collecting a lot of stone chunks to equalize the stage. Fortunately, everything went well, but I will not go there again. And there was no time left to climb up the Mesa herself.

What can you see here? May be I am so fanciful but my first impression was be in front a huge equalizer.
An infrared photo done with 590nm converted camera. It lets too much of visible light for my taste, but we have to live with our bad decisions, right. So, more than usual post-processing is needed. Sometimes that adds to the fun.
This photo, white balance is corrected, than red-blue inverted, tone of the blue was worked just a bit to get it look natural, red parts (which were actually orange) were modified in Rattherapee HSV equalizer and mostly with L*A*B* Adjustments (HH and LH sliders moved quite a bit). At the end, the photo looks like "almost" natural fall take.

Back to Iceland archive...One of four male ptarmigans we saw, this one from the the road to Asburgi from Myvatn. It set on a rock, and was unfazed by my slow approach with the 600, 1.4x, and monopod. Interesting fact: Male with the largest and best maintained red combs have the most breeding success the first year they try. it equalizes the following season.

There are few way to make selective colour in RT. If colour appears just in one place, the easiest way is to use CH Equalizer in L*A*B* Adjustments.
Some artifacts on other parts of the image may be expected.
Lifer...The last of four male ptarmigans we saw, this one from the Langanes peninsula. It set on a rock, and was unfazed by my slow approach with the 600, 1.4x, and monopod. He kept looking at me with the confidence of a a bird that has experience no harm (or one with a very small brain). Interesting fact: Male with the largest and best maintained red combs have the most breeding success the first year they try. it equalizes the following season. This bird is the main food source for the Gyrfalcon, and their population peak and trough in an 11 year cycle with a 4-5 year gap between pray and predator. We saw one Gyrfalcon (another lifer), but the image quality was only good for eBird... images here: ebird.org/checklist/S89668458
Food, the great equalizer.
Treats got us seated quietly together in expectation, but it really wasn't necessary (did I just say that?), we got along right away, in spite of a couple of incidents where he tried to take my ball when I didn't want him to.
Isn't it funny how life works. Eight years ago I was an annoying pup that had to be careful around an aging Duke, and now it's Archer who must be careful around me.
It's my turn to be Trail Pack Leader! (I will be a benevolent one, all you mortals.)
