Der „Equal Pay Day“, der Tag der Entgeltgleichheit zwischen Männern und Frauen, fand am 21.März 2013 zum sechsten Mal in Deutschland statt. Er wurde vom Verband der „Business and Professional Woman Germany“ initiiert, um auf Entgeltunterschiede zwischen Frauen und Männern und deren Ursachen aufmerksam zu machen. Nach aktuellen Zahlen des Statistischen Bundesamts verdienen Frauen noch immer 22% weniger als Männer.
I went up to Baltimore with a friend who grew up here. His dad was marching with Equality Maryland. We stopped to say hi, and before you knew it we ended up marching the rest of the route with them. One of the marchers held a sign reading "Civil Marriage is a Civil Right." Baltimore, MD.

Knowledge is power. And today, as data equals knowledge, data is power. Every day we leave significant traces of personal information on the internet. Laokoon has taken on the challenge of reconstructing a person solely based on these traces, by using their Google search data. The result is a three-channel video installation that encourages viewers to reflect on their online behaviour and consider the use of tools to protect their privacy.
