The Equal Futures Partnership is an innovative U.S.-led multilateral initiative designed to encourage member countries to empower women economically and politically. On September 22, 2014, Secretary Kerry was joined by Senior Advisor to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls and U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, Catherine Russell, at an Equal Futures Partnership event, where they discussed the importance of women in leadership positions.

President Lyndon Johnson started his education at the Junction Schoolhouse at age 4. On April 11, 1965, with his first teacher, Kate Deadrich Loney, by his side, he signed into law The Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Part of the law emphasized that every child must have equal opportunities for an exceptional education regardless of their race.
