The Italy Pavilion at Epcot's world showcase. This was the first time I brought a fisheye to the parks. I'm still trying to get used to the new perspective that the 8 mm brings. Thanks for looking.
Mickey welcomes Monorail Yellow to Epcot. I enjoyed Flower and Garden and in particular this topiary as the centerpiece.
Sorry for the lack of comments lately. Between WDW, a work trip, work, and another trip this weekend.... it has been um chaotic over the past two weeks.

Spaceship Earth
After hours at my #1 must-do attraction at EPCOT, Spaceship Earth. People often talk about the amazement and wonder they experience when visiting various attractions at WDW. When I first rode this attraction in 1991 it set forth a lifelong passion for communications and technology and their promise for tomorrow.
The Morocco Pavilion was the first expansion pavilion added to the World Showcase. It is popular with the kids because Aladdin and Jasmine can be found here. This is a another shot taken without a tripod after a rain soaked evening.

Epcot, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, opened in 1982. It was conceived by Walt Disney to "take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the creative centers of American industry."
Epcot's icon is the impressive Spaceship Earth geosphere, affectionately referred to by most as the giant golf ball. (You'd need one heck of a four iron to get it on the fairway.)
During Disney's Millennium celebration, there was a giant Sorcerer Mickey hand and the word "Epcot" added to the exterior. This has since been removed.
While the outside has been restored back to it's original design, the interior has also undergone changes.

I really enjoyed the France Pavilion. The area had just the appropriate amount of explorability, reminding me a bit of New Orleans Square in Disneyland. The Impressions De France film located in the back is also amazingly beautiful. I'm pretty sure I stopped and had some wine/cheese at a little cafe, but I've yet to enjoy one of the two proper French restaurants located here. One of those is at the top of my to-do list for Epcot whenever I next visit… I'm just not sure which one. If all goes well I'll probably visit the real France before I visit this pavilion next, so I'll have a good basis for comparison.

These photos begin a journey back to my film days. I scanned my old photos using an EPSON Epson FastFoto FF-680W scanner and allowed the software to optimize the photos.
These photos are from a trip in circa 1986. We went there in December, I think, to give talks at a technical conference and left time on the last day for a few hours at EPCOT.
