"The architecturally unique Spaceship Earth globe forms a breathtaking entrance to Epcot Center. Entering Future World, visitors pass directly beneath this glistening geosphere which reaches a height surpassing that of the Walt Disney World Contemporary Resort Hotel. Within this theme structure, a swirling time journey retraces the increasingly important role of communications in mankind's survival." - excerpt from #waltdisneyworld #epcotcenter - pictorial souvenir program, 1982

Kristen and I are at EPCOT for 2 days having a little fun... I love to be here during the Flower & Garden Festival.

SSE is always amazing to photograph.

I went to Disney with Mike Jones on Monday. It was a fun and long day. We did Disney in the morning and then Epcot in the afternoon and evening. We had a ball!! Not sure who should get credit for this photo. We were sharing my camera and I think I spotted this perspective, I liked it and Mike shot it so I guess it's a joint effort.

We traveled the world at Epcot and I even got to visit Canada again briefly. It may have been warmer in Canada then it was that day!!! We went on some fun rides but the one I loved the most was one where you felt like you were para sailing over the most gorgeous places. I was a bit concerned about doing it because of my fear of heights but it was a blast. Splash mountain was great too. Dumbo wasn't too exciting but still fun:-))).

A few photos from our great day are below. I'm posting these now as I am moving on tomorrow morning and will be visiting friends for a couple of days and then heading out of Florida. I will be driving a lot and my time on flickr will be limited to when I stop in the evening. My visit here has gone far too fast but there is still a lot I want to see so I'm outta here. I know I haven't caught up with everyone yet but promise to do so over the next few days when I can.

Some of you have already seen a couple of these shots because Mike beat me to posting them.

Epcot was originally conceived by Walt Disney during the early development of Walt Disney World, as an experimental planned community that would serve as a center for American enterprise and urban living.

The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, inaugurated in 1994, uses specially themed floral displays throughout the park, including topiary sculptures of Disney characters. Guests can meet gardening experts and learn new ideas they can use in their own home gardens. The 30th annual event is scheduled for March 1, with an extended run of two months, leading up to July 5. Each event takes more than a full year to plan and more than 20,000 cast

member hours. Just a joy to behold annually in Central Florida.

Here's a cropped version of the Tronorail that I posted a few days ago. I was using a new 20mm lens for outside shots for the most part during this trip. After I got home, I realized that I didn't have many close shots of the monorails going through Epcot.

Some interesting facts on Disneys Epcot. It opened its doors October 1, 1982, was inspired by an unrealized concept by Walt Disney himself. Epcot is dedicated to the many years of human achievement and international food cultures.

Its hosts the wine and cheese festival every October, and a huge flower show early spring.

Sunset in Epcot's Future World during the Flower & Garden Festival in Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida on Friday, March 6, 2020. For those who have been following, I rarely get a good sunset when I am at Epcot. I was hoping the upper clouds would light up, they did not and this was the best set of the evening.

Photos from a couple of visits to Epcot.

An old pre-digital shot that was scanned. I like the way the dome glows!

Oh, by the way--a great deal of twiddling in Photoshop was done to get to this point, LOL!

[FYI: FRESH EPCOT is the catchphrase/theme this year. There

were many vegetable-displays, hence the name; fresh produce.]

In Epcot they had different Countries like, America Germany Mexico, Norway, Morocco, France, Great Britten, China, Japan, Italy and Canada! It was a lot of fun seeing the different areas too and I learned lots! :) So at each Country I decided to take a picture of Miku. If you are from one country’s I hope you enjoy the picture I took for you! :3 If you want to be added to one you can just let me know! ^^_^^ I hope you enjoy it!

I love looking at the landscaping in Disney World. This was located in the "Future World" section of Epcot, between The Land and Journey into Imagination Pavilions.

I loved this archway in the Japan area of Epcot when I saw it in the daytime, so I knew I had to return when it was lit up in the evening. I'm glad I did, but what do you think?

Epcot - Walt Disney World

As I mentioned in my last post, we recently returned from Walt Disney World, and on that trip I got the chance to use my full frame setup for the first time. Unsurprisingly, I used my new Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens more than anything else (39.5% of all shots). After that, I used the 24-120mm f/4 VR and the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR each for 23.7% of my shots. My fisheye only accounted for 8% of all shots taken--normally it's my most used lens!

I absolutely love the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8, although it does flare a bit more than I expected when shooting towards light sources at night. Other than that, it's an absolutely amazing lens! I initially purchased the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, but after being unimpressed by it (for the price), I "downgraded" to the Nikon 24-120mm f/4 VR and couldn't be more happy with it--I far prefer it to the 24-70mm f/2.8. As for the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, I've used it before, but never on a full frame body. That focal range is MUCH more useful on full frame and the lens is an absolute beast! I'll have detailed reviews of all these lenses in the near future.
