The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Atlantic Division (NAD) held its inaugural Regional Castle Ball Jan. 20 at the Fort Hamilton Community Club in Brooklyn, New York, hosted by Brig. Gen. John Lloyd, NAD Commander and Division Engineer, and his wife, Mrs. Stacy Lloyd.
During evening festivities, Paula Schasberger, NAD Division Counsel, and Col. Robert McTighe, NAD Deputy Commander, hosted a Grog Ceremony, and the evening's keynote speaker was Mr. Tony Richardson, Philanthropist and NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame player.
Additionally, during the evening festivities, NAD presented awards to recipients of the Bronze de Fleury Medal, including Betzaida Andujar, Karyn Coe, Maj. Stephen Marthy, and Shamirra Shelton-Thornton.
The posting and retiring of the colors were provided by the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) Honor Guard, along with the singing of the national anthem, Engineer Song and Army Song performed by Sgt. Maj. MaryKay Messenger, USMA West Point Band. Festivities concluded with attendees dancing after the completion of the formal portion of the ball. (U.S. Army photo by Mark Getman)

Biggest Gun in the world, being loaded onto an Italian Ship, Europa, by the worlds biggest crane. Gun and Crane built by Armstrong, when the ship returned to Italy the gun was unloaded by another crane also built by Armstrong. A great time for British exports.

GALVESTON, Texas (June 5, 2014) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District celebrated the Corps’ and U.S. Army’s 239th birthday with an awards ceremony to recognize the Employee, Engineer, Regulator and Supervisor of the Year, as well as to honor staff for their contributions to the community, state and nation.
Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Petersburg-based 276th Engineer Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group conduct a Plus One Day with their loved ones July 19, 2024, at Fort Barfoot, Virginia, during the unit’s annual training. During the event, Soldiers’ family members and significant others fired simulated weapons at the Engagement Skills Trainer, conducted a live-fire range with the M240B machine gun and observed demolitions operations. Soldiers assigned to the Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion were on hand with information about the Referral Enlistment Program. The engineer of the train gets to sit in a cool chair. I noticed that we were in the second car, though, so it seemed odd that there was a front-type car where it was. However, a conductor came through and folded back the front of the train and essentially hid the driver's section so you can walk to the next train. Amazing!
