It's a sunny autumn afternoon in the town of Grafton, WV as a pair of GE ET44AC's sit on an empty coal train in the yard as the rear end of an eastbound loaded coal train passes on the main. This train is likely bound for Sentinal Mine on the A&O to be loaded.

Room at Preston School of Industry, also known as Preston Castle. Preston Castle is a Romanesque Revival style building and is now a California Historic Landmark.
It was originally built by the State of California in 1894 as a Reform School. It later became a prison for minors and was operational until 1960. The State then began to tear down the building until a group of local women stepped in. Ultimately this group became the Preston Castle Foundation and they purchased the building. Since it was partially gutted, the Foundation is working hard to preserve and restore the building, but there is much work to be done.

A N/B empty coal hopper train is rolling along on the "Joint Line" under Larkspur Butte. Burlington Northern C30-7-5062, four U30Cs-5825, 5302, 5920 & 5827, with Santa Fe SD40R-5018 are on the point.
As the storm clouds start to gather, 66175 heads past Tommy Hall's barn near Long Preston, with the 10.44 Newbiggin - Milford West empty gypsum on Sat 25th November 2017.
There are two approaches to removing people from the scene. Option 1 is long exposure or Option 2 issue $1,600 fines for anyone caught fishing as it is non essential. I chose option one for this shot. (Before lockdown - I am behaving)
At sunset a regal dairy barn sits empty like a king without a kingdom. After retirement, many people look back on years of travel and sacrifice for their career and regard their hard work for a company only as a reminder of family loss.

All businesses close, including all restaurants and places of leisure. All transportation stops, public transport, and almost all private vehicles also stop so the roads become totally empty for the day apart from the odd emergency vehicle and children and adults riding bikes!
The picture was taken on the eve of Yom Kippur 2019, on one of the entrance highways to Tel Aviv.
DB Class 60 No.60001 formerly named “Steadfast” ambles along the old LNWR ‘Buxton & High Peak’ branch from Buxton to Ashbourne and onwards to London now the branch from Buxton serves only Dowlow & Hindlow Quarries, The grubby 60 is seen skirting round the bend at Harpur Hill heading for Dowlow with the empty “Ely” set from Peak Forest Up Sdgs formed of mostly HOA wagons. Worth noting the farmer isn’t antisocial but doesn’t appreciate people in the field whilst livestock is present.

Empty BNSF oil train U-MIJTIO0-03T heads west for another load of North Dakota crude, passing the intermediate block signals at MP 58.6 west of Hillsdale, IL. These searchlights will be the next to fall with replacements staged on the ground in Hillsdale.

Though there appears to be more people out walking, there is also a feeling of emptiness, empty benches, empty parks and shorelines, empty streets.
Next time, I won't position over a puddle and wait for the people to appear from hiding just out of frame. Next time, I will wait for the people to appear, then take my position.
