HWH based WDS-6R loco - 36191 showed up near Howrah yard with the empty rake of 12346 (Guwahati-Howrah) Saraighat Express as it is being shunted to Howrah coaching depot !!

This seemed to be a common theme on our night walk as I have quite a few shots of different seats and chairs, all unoccupied. This was taken in The Atrium, Federation Square, Melbourne. It was just before I took this shot that the clock ticked past midnight and I was able to use this as the next days shot.
This evokes a rather strong feeling of emptiness to me. You could show me a picture of an empty white room and it still wouldn't have looked as empty as this photo looks to me.

Not quite an empty space by I think it will do.

Spent a few hours at the Amsterdam Zuidas area yesterday evening to try out a Canon 24mm tilt-shift lens (my main intention is to use it for shots of landscapes).
Really happy with the sharpness and colour rendering and obviously amazing to be able to just place the camera level on a tripod and turn a knob to change the perspective of the building and make it appear straight on the image.
a small local space that used to be a dollar shop (not everything cost a dollar though, those liars!) they're now closed because next door is a "dollar tree" store that's going to be opened soon. not cool, dude...
prior to it being empty, and prior to it being a dollar store, this place was an internet/gaming cafe. and before that, i really don't remember. i'd have to dig back into my childhood...
also: i never realized how long (lengthwise) this store was until it was empty.
...is the feeling you get when you know you should be at Fenway Park, but you're in some other strange stadium that just does not hold the same appeal.

Empty Lot is a large geometric sculpture created using scaffolding, a grid of triangular wooden planters, and soil collected from parks across London including Peckham, Haringey and Westminster. Nothing will be planted in the soil, but it will be lit by lamps and watered throughout the six month display. The unpredictable nature of the work, which may grow and change from one week to the next, provokes questions about the city and nature, as well as wider ideas of chance, change, and hope.

The Iconoclastic Fury of the 16th century, the destruction of as decadent perceived Catholic art by the Protestants in Europe, left its traces in the present day religion. Protestant churches are still often decorated quite minimalistically. Grundvig's Church is no exception, and it's Gothic dimensions amplify the effect of the deliberately empty walls.
Between these two buildings stood a landmark hair salon, Mr. James Hairstylist, that not long ago was torn down by the city. Schenectady, New York.

Water from the main reservoir being utilized to fill the cranberry bogs (which prevents the plants from freezing), so I got to explore new turf today. I am about 200 yards from shore here.
This image displays the many trees that were cut, but not removed from the reservoir bed. The only time you can see them is when the reservoir is emptied.
I was fighting bad light all day, but just before sunset, the sun escaped the clouds for 10 minutes...this image was taken then. Will be back soon, with a longer lens and hopefully better light.
