The boys would say, "See, Mama. It's fall in Panama, too."
Can you find them, hidden amongst the "fall" colored leaves we gathered? These leaves had withered and browned by the following day.
I heat embossed the Hero Arts fern on a sheet of cork and used the matching die.

Melting embossing powder has always been magic to me....being able to use it as a resist takes it one step further. I watercolored the backgroumd before embossing then added more watercolor. Circle cutout was softened with colored vellum.

I took 2 Fred Mullet workshops yesterday with Marissa and Elyce. It was so much fun!
These fish are from the second class of the day called "Dancing Rubber Fish". They are embossed fish stamps that came out amazing!
Just started this over the weekend and then had a REALLY long travel day yesterday (nothing like sitting at the Southwest Airlines gate in Vegas with the sound of slot machines and a bubbly crew of competitive cheerleaders from Stanford to make you want to shut out the world and just knit). I got so much done!!
Drilled and embossed raw blanks (I used the Cuttlebug) and accented with alcohol inks as well as acrylics, sealed with clear acrylic varnish.
There's this neat powder you can sprinkle over wet ink, like from a stamp, and then blast it with heat. The powder turns clear (or a color) and makes a raised area over the ink, making an effect like embossing the paper. Stella knew all about it, I'd never even heard of something like that. Turned out pretty awesome on our return envelopes.
Embossed Leaves from Interweave Winter 2005.
Yarn my own handpainted on Louet Gems
A vodka bottle works well to display the stitch pattern. ;)
Dry embossed background inked with distress ink then sprayed with water for a watercolor look. Inspired by Jennifer McGuire Video here: www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/06/video-distress-ink-wat...
My sample for Die Cut Divas and Chalk'n'stock blogs.
Embossed each side of the card and then sponged with chalk ink. Printed the penguin and coloured with Copics. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

I can definitely say that Embossed Leaves is a pattern that I love to knit and plan to knit yet again in the future. This is my third pair so far.
This was my first time knitting with Skinny Bugga. I've knit a shawl in regular Bugga, which I loved, and I liked working with Skinny Bugga as well. These feel great on my feet and I think they'll wear well over time.
It's hard to believe that I just bought this yarn two weeks ago at Maryland Sheep & Wool and now I have a pair of finished socks from it! Pretty neat. :)
Pattern: Embossed Leaves from Favorite Socks
Yarn: The Sanguine Gryphon Skinny Bugga in Honeybee, less than one skein
Needles: US 2
Size: US 8.5 shoe
Mods: I knit 10 rounds of twisted rib instead of 18. For the heel flap, I knit 20 rows instead of 24. On the gusset, I did not cut the yarn (as instructed) since...that didn't make sense to me, lol. Also on the gusset, I picked up 13 stitches along the heel flap instead of 15.
Working on a custom letterpress holiday card job. This was the blind emboss snow later before the red letterpress.
This view shows an embossing block with very crisp edges on the printed cover stock paper. Note it is positioned within 1/16 inch of the edge to start an emboss. Press down and work it to the light line and the edge of the mask (die) below. This block will be used twice on the short edges and three times on the longer edges. The cover stock is a preprinted sheet of French Sparkletone (Sand) available from the XpedX Paper Store (formerly Nationwide Papers). It is pricey but very good. This card was one of a series of several created for souvenir stock for the Raymond, Colorado Store, a historical derelict.
