Another card I made to learn some of the techniques. I remembered to stamp then emboss not the other way around :)

The polymer clay pendant and ship focal bead were created by me, Lynda Moseley, using an image transfer technique and an embossing technique. The image is a Japanese Woodcut design titled "Great Wave Off Kanagawa" Hokusai Katsushiki. I embossed the pendant and the reverse of the smaller focal bead with an Asian Lotus Blossom and Chrysanthemum stamp. It is my entry in the August Art Bead Scene Challenge.
In addition to the small focal bead which I created, I used Kyanite dagger beads, carved pink agate ammonite beads, Fossil Agate ovals, Impression Jasper, a/k/a Aqua Terra Jasper rounds, Bali silver spacer beads, and a Sterling Silver Hook clasp.
It was a pleasure to create something for the August ABS challenge. I am a huge fan and a collector of Japanese woodcut prints, and has been one of my personal favorites for years.

These towels are embossed (raised letters). The embossed letter is created by the fluff of the towel when the surrounding area is embroidered in an overall pattern in a same color thread.
The embossed letter is encircled by an embossed frame
The effect is a very subtle and elegantly monogrammed towel.
Pattern: Embossed Leaves Socks, from IK Winter 2005.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Wildfoote in Crystal Pink.
Needles: Size #1.
Comments: I think these are the most delicate socks I've seen! The pattern is really very easy to memorize and I love the little details like the ribbing and the toe. As for changes, I made my usual Sherman Heel but that is all. I also quite like the yarn and will probably knit with it again. I can't believe that I knit my first pair of socks in February and this is already my fifth! HA! Can't wait for Socktoberfest!
38'' Disney Cinderella Doll. First look, deboxing.
The accessories have been removed from the packaging. On the left is the silver plastic tiara, on the right is the translucent blue plastic slippers.
Disney Princess Cinderella Fairytale Friend 38'' Doll
Produced by CDI (a division of Jakks Pacific) for Disney.
Purchased new in box on December 26, 2012.
Received on December 28, 2012.
This is 38'' poseable Cinderella doll that was released in late 2012 in conjunction with the Diamond Edition release in October 3, 2012 of the original 1950 animated Cinderella movie on Blu-ray and DVD. The doll comes wearing a glittering blue and white ball gown. Also included are blue flexible plastic slippers, and a silver and blue plastic tiara with a portrait of the new look Cinderella. She shares the same body design as the Tangled Rapunzel Fairytale Friend 38'' Doll released in late 2010, also produced by CDI for Disney. These dolls are similar in size and design to the Mattel My Size line of dolls that were released in the 1990's, but these dolls were not produced by Mattel.
Her face is very pretty, but different in look from the 12'' and 17'' Disney Store Cinderellas released in 2012. Nor is she very movie accurate. She has large blue eyes staring straight ahead, light brown eyebrows, five brown eyelashes over each eye. She has a small nose, and a wide open mouthed smile, with deep pink lips.
She has light blonde hair in her trademark bun with a protective hairnet, but it is smaller than in the movie (or the smaller dolls). The majority of her tresses are in loose medium length curls. She has no bangs. Insead her hair is wrapped around her head over her forehead, below her bun, ending in a short ponytail behind her head, hidden beneath her curly tresses.
Her blue, silver and white dress is based on the new design that was introduced with the new 12'' and 17'' Disney Store Cinderellas in 2012. It is made of satin and organza, and has glitter in the decorations in the skirt. The bodice is deep blue satin, with a light blue satin panel with a printed silver dotted pattern, and silver sequined border. There is a silver bow at the top of the bodice, made of foil-like material. She has puffy shear white organza sleeves and peplum. Her skirt is light blue satin, with deep blue panels on the left and right sides in front. There is a pattern of silver glitter dots in the center light blue panel, and wavy vertical lines of made of smaller multicolored glittery dots on the side deep blue panels.
Her accessories are different than the movie character's, as well as the recent Disney Store Cinderella dolls. Her choker is a wide blue satin ribbon with a large diamond in front, rather than the simple black ribbon choker in the movie or in the smaller dolls. She has a silver colored plastic tiara in her hair, topped by a blue heart shaped crystal, rather than a blue or silver head band. Finally, she has translucent light blue rubbery plastic shoes, rather than the clear ''glass'' slippers in the movie, or on the latest Disney Store Cinderella dolls. The shoes are topped with a large heart, embossed with the letter ''P'' (I presume standing for Princess).
Photographed boxed, during the deboxing, and fully deboxed, both alone and with comparable dolls.

British embossed spoon " Berlin " , silver-plated brass , 18.5 cm
POW art ?
There were two POW camps in the vicinity of Berlin; Döberitz and Dyrotz. The camp hospital was in the Alexandrinestrasse in Berlin. Among the first prisoners of Döberitz were men of the British Royal Naval Division taken POW after the siege of Antwerp in 1914.
The spoon has trademark/maker's mark ' The Potosi Silver Co of Birmingham ' ; this firm made silverware under this name from 1878 to 1910.
Potosi is a silver mining city in Bolivia.

This pony was made with Quick Cutz Metal Sheet Embossing--a wonderful product. I received this fanciful pony in my Faithful Horse swap at the recent Paper Cowgirl Art Retreat, held in Waxahachie, TX.

This embosser attaches to a computer like a standard printer. With the aid of special software it prints braille.
My first attempts at embossing. I'm a newbie to this but I already love it!
Here I used my new eraser stamp, I had carved a few days before.
Embossed armour represents the pinnacle of the metalworker's art in armour. Unfortunately, the decoration significantly weakens the armour's defensive properties - both by thinning the metal and by providing edges that an attacking weapon could catch on, rather than glancing off. To borrow a quotation from a much later period, "C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre." [It is magnificent, but it is not war.]
