Nothing but simplicity with this shot.

Being doing loads of food photography at the moment having fun setting up lighting, cooking then photographing it.

This was a quick put together shot with a few of the props I bought which didn't involve much cooking.

I used one softbox to the right and above with my elemental strobe light set to 1/16th power and a white reflector to the left to fill the shadows on the opposite side.

My strobe was fired using my Yongnuo RF 602 trigger.

This is a closer shot of the element from the bulb in my Pure Energy picture!

On the start of the Mt. Sentinel trail after hiking up to the M, we passed a lady and her dog by a beautiful patch of bitterroot. She told us of a mine adit around the bend on the trail and exclaimed it wasn't good to be out here in lightning storms. I perked up, but the storm clouds skirted us, as though to say, "There's nowhere to go but up!"

Built for Challenge IV of the Guilds of Historica on Eurobricks.com. This thing has power functions, so be sure to check out the VIDEO or you will miss 90% of the fun.

Another of Mt. Rainier from the popular Reflection Lakes area, taken on a warm, early fall evening. I plan on reworking this picture from scratch again, as I am unhappy with a few of the technical details, but am uploading anyways, just for fun.

fire on water....well actually reflections of orange life jackets...

An elemental is a mythic being described in occult and alchemical works from around the time of the European Renaissance and particularly elaborated in the 16th century works of Paracelsus. There are four elemental categories: gnomes, undines, sylphs, and salamanders and they basically correspond to the Classical elements of antiquity: earth, water, air and fire.

The truth is that in Porto Santo we really feel this mythical feeling so i felt that the name suited the picture i took last February in Calheta, Porto Santo.

Hope you all like it as mutch as i loved to shoot it smile emoticon

Series made using fundamental, natural elements. These natural elements and compounds are collected at the site of the picture - usually at the location depicted within the photograph. The depicted scene you see here is created not just by light on film but by melding samples of elements and organic matter from the scene into the film development process where subject and medium are married together, the resulting image created from the scene itself.

No collating or cutting and pasting of external or internal elements into the picture in Photoshop or similar editor has taken place.

Remarkable Rocks

Kangaroo Island

Sometimes when photographing iconic areas, I try to pic a composition which I haven't seen in books, online , magazines etc. The striking granite of the region is the main feature though the small collection of rocks in the midground isn't the most photographed of the remarkable rocks, it still made for an interesting subject matter esepcially with the distant sun peeking through the clouds. Not sure if this works too well for me personally but at least its different? ps. Have a great weekend- I think our next weekend trip is to Robe in the south east or Lake Bonney - a coin toss needed later !

This piece is 'Elemental' by Matt Stein and is located on the outskirts of Port Marine, Portishead. A smooth, sleeky and shiny sculpture - it looked like a sharpened blade in the afternoon sun.

And it looks even better in B&W.

Earth Elemental

An ancient form of golem, forged from the primal essence of the earth itself. Earth elementals are mindless drones, created and controlled by powerful magics. Nearly indestructible, these stone giants prowl the slopes of the Gelder Peaks. Most are long forgotten relics from a bygone era. Forgotten eons ago by their masters who now inhabit the same soil from whence the elemental was raised.

*** Just having more fun with Chima joints! I am particularly pleased with how this guy turned out. The design is all mine; however, conceptually he is based off of art from Guild Wars 2.

Please feel free to leave comments! :D
