In D&D the Xorn is a creature from the elemental plane of Earth that visits the material plane in search of rare gems and minerals. It is able to burrow through rock like it was thin air!

I always loved the trilateral design of this creature, so it was fun to finally have a go at building one. The Mixels ball/socket joints helped with the 6-sided construction. This model contains almost 50 Mixel-specific parts!

Intense flames consuming old boards in a controlled burn, part of a series I did exploring the nature of fire. I've always found fire to be quite mesmerizing to watch. It's like clouds in a way, the flames are ever changing and the eye tends to want to make sense out of the randomness. I often sense shapes emerging from the flames, sometimes a face or some other recognizable object.

The concept of elements making up the world stood strong in medieval times. Here is my take on the wizards controlling one element each, Fire, Water, Aeter, Air and Earth. Each is capable of summoning help from their element.

Hmm....several hours of shopping...and still no sign of distress. Either Daisy really is a high heel wonder...or the excruciating pain has been masked by the endorphin high from her snazzy new lingerie. 😉

Elemental Ii

An elemental is a mythic being described in occult and alchemical works from around the time of the European Renaissance and particularly elaborated in the 16th century works of Paracelsus. There are four elemental categories: gnomes, undines, sylphs, and salamanders and they basically correspond to the Classical elements of antiquity: earth, water, air and fire.

The truth is that in Porto Santo we really feel this mythical feeling so i felt that the name suited the picture i took last February in Calheta, Porto Santo.

On the start of the Mt. Sentinel trail after hiking up to the M, we passed a lady and her dog by a beautiful patch of bitterroot. She told us of a mine adit around the bend on the trail and exclaimed it wasn't good to be out here in lightning storms. I perked up, but the storm clouds skirted us, as though to say, "There's nowhere to go but up!"

Remarkable Rocks

Kangaroo Island

Sometimes when photographing iconic areas, I try to pic a composition which I haven't seen in books, online , magazines etc. The striking granite of the region is the main feature though the small collection of rocks in the midground isn't the most photographed of the remarkable rocks, it still made for an interesting subject matter esepcially with the distant sun peeking through the clouds. Not sure if this works too well for me personally but at least its different? ps. Have a great weekend- I think our next weekend trip is to Robe in the south east or Lake Bonney - a coin toss needed later !
