Magnesium (Mg) is # 12 on the Periodic Table of Elements. Elemental magnesium is a silvery-gray metal. It is one of many "strategic metals". Magnesium is produced by processing various ore minerals such as dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2, calcium magnesium carbonate), magnesite (MgCO3, magnesium carbonate), and brucite (Mg(OH)2, magnesium hydroxide). Most ores are "burned" to MgO (magnesium oxide) to make "magnesia refractories", which are bricks used for lining furnaces in the glass and metallurgy industries.
Twenty-two isotopes of magnesium are known - three occur naturally. Magnesium-24 is the most common. Magnesium-25 and magnesium-26 are less common.

Fundado em 15 de fevereiro de 1878 durante o período áureo do Ciclo da Borracha. O engenheiro militar José Tiburcio de Magalhães concebeu o projeto arquitetônico inspirado no Teatro Scalla de Milão (Itália). Foi a primeira casa de espetáculos construída na Amazônia e tem características grandiosas: 1.100 lugares, acústica perfeita, lustres de cristal, piso em mosaico de madeiras nobres, afrescos nas paredes e teto, dezenas de obras de arte, gradis e outros elementos decorativos revestidos com folhas de ouro. É o maior Teatro da Região Norte e um dos mais luxuosos do Brasil. Com cerca de 130 anos de história, é considerado um dos Teatros-Monumentos do País.
This photo is a picture of sand that I took of my Japanese garden that I have in my room. The sand shows a texture of roughness, and grainy. Just by looking at the photo you can picture what the sand feels like. This would be an example of visual texture in art. I liked this photo because it reminded me of being at the beach.
ASYS se ha caracterizado por trabajar artesanalmente en la construcción de elementos escénicos, objetos, mascaras y cabezudos. La propia poética del colectivo sostiene dicho proceder, pero también el talento de Pedro Adorno en relación con las artes plásticas, así como la colaboración continua con otros creadores y creadoras. En el caso del “proyecto de las esculturas”, se utilizó la tradición de trabajo comunitario de Agua, sol y sereno: todo comenzó en la Plaza de la Barandilla, del Viejo San Juan, y se trasladaría después a otras plazas de la isla; bajo una carpa, diferentes artistas trabajan una escultura en barro que tiene como tema alguna figura de la cultura puertorriqueña. Conjuntamente, actores y actrices leen poesía, músicos interpretan canciones, y en sentido general se conduce un taller en el que personas de todas las edades pueden integrarse. La idea es que el público general también dibuje, y cree con barro y papier mache, su propia visión sobre la personalidad homenajeada. El fin de semana del sábado 8 y domingo 9 de marzo de 2014, como parte del día internacional de la mujer, Agua, Sol y Sereno comenzó su ciclo de esculturas dedicado a la mujer puertorriqueña. La primera homenajeada fue Julia de Burgos. Le seguirían las esculturas a Silvia Rexach y Felisa Rincón de Gautier. Más tarde, en la Plaza Pública de Manatí también se desarrollaría la creación de la escultura de Manuel Joglar Cacho, conjuntamente con los talleres de barro.
