I got this laptop from my buddy at work. Ripped it open, took out all the parts I didn't need and started to design a digital picture frame.

 

EDIT: It really was a whole laptop, covers, trackpad, keyboard and all. This picture is taken when I already removed all the unnecessary parts :)

My electronics bench, oscilloscope and power supply project. The oscilloscope is an HP 54501A 100MHz 4-channel scope I picked up for about $250. The power supply is a variable output DC power supply with about 10 amp output capability. I made it from scratch.

A first take on the electronics: This is a Wave Shield on top of an Arduino Uno. It fitted quite nicely into a cheap plastic case which also happened to have the right size to serve as a gun box for the turret. A lucky find.
