I messed up the LCD on a beloved piece of electronics. Everything is fine except for the LCD. Anyone has a clue if the LCD only can be replaced? If so, what is this called, and is it easy to get one? The back of the screen says "00-0280". Any hints greatly appreciated!

It’s truly a gold universe. Space vehicles are fitted with gold-coated polyester film to reflect infrared radiation and to help stabilize core temperatures, says Geology.com. Without gold, darker colored parts of spacecraft would absorb significant amounts of heat.
#2 Tab slid forward
A curious object (actually one of 5) I picked up in an electronics surplus grab bag. (Well "box" if you want to pick nits.) Certainly resembles some kind of adapter or socket, but I've never see its like before.
The metal tabs within and without are very fine and do not offer much surface contact area. Very curious indeed.
