I spent a few hours over 2 days in Akihabara, the electronics center in Tokyo. I have never seen such a place ... I realized that I was walking around with my jaw dropped open. Anything in electronics ... phones, computers, photography, music ...the floor for music and gadgets was just amazing, and on the photography floor...well, it made Best Buy in the US look like the 3rd world. Just in the Nikon section I saw on display probably every item that Nikon ever made. Walking past the Mamiya section, there was a 22 megapixel DSLR for about $20,000. Even rosewood view cameras! I was like heaven for electronics and photography...
The geeklet loves electronics, so the extra bits of the Adafruit Raspbery Pi starter kit were immediately pressed into service as robot parts.
