In this video podcast Dr Andrew Flewitt and Dr Robert Phaal both from the Department of Engineering and Scott White serial entrepreneur and CEO of Pragmatic Printing talk about the creative partnership forged between different parts of the Department of Engineering and outside companies that enable the technology and research in this area to be exploited successfully.
The idea is that this supply is a discrete component providing power to other circuits built on this BB. So as you can see, rows 11 and 12 are the only connections to the power bus.
Also it is built is as little space as possible.
Another detail is on rows 12, 8 and 9 I connect both sides of the BB to make it one row.
Row 12 is the ground bus for the circuit. Done instead of using the blue/(-) line.
I don't have power connected, but the negative terminal goes to 2E and the positive goes to 6E

I installed the electronics board onto the printer today. All the headers are well marked. It should be very straight forward to get everything assembled and ready to print soon.

I messed up the LCD on a beloved piece of electronics. Everything is fine except for the LCD. Anyone has a clue if the LCD only can be replaced? If so, what is this called, and is it easy to get one? The back of the screen says "00-0280". Any hints greatly appreciated!

Akihabara electronics market. It was totally awesome to see so many electronic parts for sale in street side stalls. There are, apparantly, a lot more hobby enthusiasts in Japan than in the US.
