There is still quite a lot of old infrastructure at Kirkham and Wesham, though the lack of semaphores kept our modern feet on the ground.
This shot is looking towards Blackpool from Bridge 25, a footbridge which should proved a superb vantage point when remodelling and electrification work gets cracking.
The train is heading away for camera. Immediately beyond Bridge 26 in the distance it will carry straight on for Blackpool North, swinging right to join the right pair of through tracks.

There is an electric fence running through these wild flowers. This is called "Electrified", because I found out by backing into the fence. When I turned around and saw the surrounding beauty, I had to take the shot.

To mitigate climate change around the world, many researchers have called for a shift in our transportation systems. They urge us to replace vehicles that rely on traditional fossil fuels with electric vehicles to meet ambitious reduction goals. But how does adopting and scaling e-mobility affect a city and its residents? What impacts do environmental factors, economic factors, and customer preference have on driving the electric vehicle grid? Join our panelists for a discussion on the infrastructure of electrification.

Completed conversion in December, 2009. Kent Armstrong mini-humbucker pickup, thumbwheel volume and tone pots, 1/8" mini jack with special cable.
Everything mounted invisibly to back side of pickguard. The pickup is 100% floating, and no holes were drilled in the guitar's top.
There are two holes drilled in the side for the gold-plated pickguard support bracket. The front of the guard is supported with a stainless steel pin which slips into a socket which was built into the neck extension when the guitar was constructed.

Over the night of 14th/15th May 2018 Network Rail and Virgin Trains ran three out and back test electric trains between Preston and Blackpool North. The trains' reporting numbers were 1Q01 (Preston to Blackpool) and IQ02 return, followed by IQ03/4 and IQ05/6.
These trains were the first to run to Blackpool under electric power.
The set used was eleven car 390 152 Virgin Knight. The train crew were supplemented by staff from Alstom who were undertaking electrical tests and by a cleaner, as the set would be returned to normal service first thing in the morning.
Photos A132 depict the second ever electric train - IQ03/4.
