Eiffel Tower replica

In 1992, a 60 ft. tall replica of the Eiffel Tower was erected in the Memorial Park in Paris. The tower was constructed of "500 pieces of Douglas fir and 6,000 steel rods". The Eiffel Tower replica was donated to the City of Paris by the Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. After deterioration to the wood structure, Keith Jackson, owner of Precision Grinding and Metals of Paris, recreated the original wood replica into a steel structure that still stands today. To accomplish the feet, PGM company constructed the tower in three sections and trailered each section to Memorial Park where it was finally erected.

Architect Gustave Eiffel created this tower for the World Exhibition of

1889. It was once widely derided by Parisians as too big and too modern. It

nearly became 7000 tons of scrap iron when its concession expired in 1909.

Only its potential use as a radio antenna saved the day. Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest structure in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.98 million people ascended it in 2011.

The tower received its 250 millionth visitor in 2010.

The tower is 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to assume the title of the tallest human-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in New York City was built in 1930. Because of the addition of the antenna atop the Eiffel Tower in 1957, it is now taller than the Chrysler Building by 5.2 metres (17 ft). Not including broadcast antennae, it is the second-tallest structure in France, after the Millau Viaduct.

A souvenier miniature that i bought during my visit to Paris.

The actual Miniature is blackish grey in colour.

So tried my hand on "Light painting for the first time by lighting/painting the entire surface with a golden gelled mini torch and tried to match the golden lighting of the Eiffel Tower when it is lit during the night.

The inside again is lit with a red gelled mini torch.

Lots of Agarbattis/Incense sticks to create that foggy mystic feel.

Thanks to Photographer Shiresh R Karrale for sharing tips on light painting when I had met him at Canon Image Lounge.
