The Moeraki Boulders under the sunrise's golden light.
The Maori folklore says that the boulders were once food baskets and gourds used by ancient people aboard a famous canoe that overturned at sea. Washed ashore, they turned to stone.
For me, letting my imagination ran wild, they looked like a huge fossilized egg, laid by some enormous prehistoric animals. Yup, dinosaur eggs!
How big is the boulder, you say? Well, some of them is is up to my chest. And do remember, part of if is buried in the sand!

For 'Smile on Saturday' theme of 'egg-ceptional'.
Wasn't going to do anything for this weeks theme. But then in the kitchen decided to open the fridge and just look at the eggs. Thought this one was a nice colour so popped it into one of our usual eggcups, and grabbed my 'go-to' point and shoot camera.
I thought the background of Saturday's copy of the Puzzle Page in the newspaper provided a bit of further interest - the blue colour attracted me!

A pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist (batik) method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.
HMM Everyone!
On my way back to the car after my walk yesterday, I noticed this egg under the newly-trimmed dwarf bottlebrush. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that it won't be long until the raccoons find it.

Average price for a dozen large grade A eggs here in Utah is $5.67. Across the county it varies from about $4.59 to about $6.00. I'm cashing in my gold coins for eggs! For the Sliders Sunday Group.

This is one of those funny ones! The Finistère is literally covered in gorse and broom! Yet it took me 3 days to find this species!!!!
I spotted the eggs first (pic in comments), and eventually an adult. Did see a few more after this, but not in the numbers I'd have expected!

This is dedicated to my good friend and macro maestro, Kim and although she may be a bit shy she is truly a wonderful nature photographer. She might even know the id on this set of eggs.
"You will need to know the difference between Friday and a fried egg. It's quite a simple difference, but an important one. Friday comes at the end of the week, whereas a fried egg comes out of a chicken. Like most things, of course, it isn't quite that simple. The fried egg isn't properly a fried egg until it's been put in a frying pan and fried. This is something you wouldn't do to a Friday, of course, though you might do it on a Friday. You can also fry eggs on a Thursday, if you like, or on a cooker. It's all rather complicated, but it makes a kind of sense if you think about it for a while."

I hope that you are able to see the effect: the fried egg is floating above the frying pan.
The picture is not tricked in post-processing. The egg lies on a glass plate approximately 30 cm above the pan. I used a large aperture opening to get a small DoF to make everything below the egg to appear fuzzy.
It took many shots to get a decent picture. Originally, my idea was to use a raw egg, but that didn't work because I was not able to confine the slithery substance within the radius of the frying pan. In the end, I turned to a fried egg, which worked a lot better.
