Pysanka (Писанка)
For Macro Mondays - Egg.
Strobe with grid and black flag above and to left. Speelight with snoot lower right. Bare speedlight with black flag bounced off a silver reflector above and behind on right.
My wife decorated this egg at a neighborhood event many years ago. I believe that the individual who led the group was Ukrainian - the name for these wax-resist decorated eggs derives from the Old Slavonic Пьсати, which refers to writing. While this form of decoration is closely associated with the Ukraine, it is widely practiced throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
2.875 inches in greatest dimension.
Polish Easter egg (plural Easter eggs) or Easter eggs; squeaks, kaufonki is a common name for an egg richly ornamented using various techniques. The word "pisanka" is derived from the verb 'write' which in contemporary Polish means only 'to write' yet in the old Polish "also paint". Originally the Easter egg has been absorbed by Christianity to become a traditional Easter egg. Easter eggs are now considered symbolizing the rebirth of hope. Christians gain faith in the resurrection in Jesus Christ.
...is what the chefs call their version of Egg Benedict at Metropol in Helsingborg.
Their breakfast buffet is outstanding, but you can also order from their A la carte menu, items like this for example.
Totally outstanding version.
Best hotel breakfast in Sweden, probably.
If Egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force, life begins.
Great things always begin from inside.

Happy Easter!
Eggs, in general, were a traditional symbol of fertility and rebirth in different faiths and religions.
In the case of Mesopotamia, the Easter egg comes from the fertility Goddess Ishtar, (Astarte, Ashera, Astaroth, Inanna), worshiped by the Babylonians, Assyrians, Phoenicians, Canaanites...
Ishtar is the origin of the name given in English to the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus on the third day, a celebration that is called Easter and in German, Ostern.
Between the 9th and 18th centuries, the Church prohibited the consumption of eggs during Lent, considering it equivalent to meat, and for this reason people cooked and painted them to differentiate them from frescoes and to be able to consume them on Easter Day.
Over time, these traditions were incorporated into the Easter festivity and today the Easter egg is a universal symbol.
For many, the egg resembles the resurrection as a symbol of new life.
Commerce and modernity, for their part, have been in charge of incorporating chocolate eggs, and plastic eggs to be filled with sweets, and which according to legend are hidden by the Easter rabbit for children to look for. and therefore, find them and eat them. (Source: Wikipedia)
New to me, I've never heard of Poached Egg Daisies. So I found a field of poached eggs, indigenous to Central Australia.

Hello my Flickr friends!
This is my contribution to 2 awesome Flickr Groups:
*ღღ* Cosas de casa *ღღ and the theme for today is Red and Color my World Daily with the color Yellow for today.
I must admit red is a very popular color!!! And it is always interesting to see how it matches with other colors. But red and yellow? That is a major risk of burning your retina!! Be careful and please wear glasses if your eyes are sensitive to vivid color exposure!!! I don’t want to be the one telling you: I told you so!!! I know someone who looked directly at the sun and lost 10% of her vision (yes, it was a friend of mine and no it was not me!). And apparently it may also happen if you are a man and you stare at women’s cleavage…. So, Messieurs, be careful!!
So here we go, everything we need is in our purses and we are ready to climb that gigantic egg!! Who is coming with us?? Double challenge: red half of my picture is for *ღღ* Cosas de casa *ღღ and yellow half of my picture is for Color my world Daily Group!
Thank you so much for your comments /favs and support! I’m humbled and grateful!!! I wish you all an amazing day and see you soon on Flickr (how about tomorrow ??)!!
Looking close on Friday theme: Eggs in Black & White
Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
I've been working on prepping files for the printer this morning. Getting together some new bookmarks, stickers and cards-eep even printing some holiday cards already and I came across a folder full of photos of eggs. I have SO many egg photos it is ridiculous. Here's another to add...
Qué difícil el tema de la semana. Pero divertido, la parte de organizarlo y hacerlo, porque limpiarlo menos. Además, me temo que voy a comer tortilla unos cuantos días!!

What goes up must come down.... Chicago Blues Band
Except grocery prices. It seems that when prices have gone up it is very hard to get them down. I would have never known that if it was not for the upcoming transition team. From the info we heard on the campaign trail, I though it was the Presidents fault.
We have now found out that if a shit load of chickens die, for whatever reason, egg prices go up. America just lost another million chickens to that damn bird flu. Eggs are going up again. But at least we got the message from the transition team that this was not the fault of the new President elect. They found out that Presidents have nothing to do with the price of eggs. Pre Nov 6th was when it was the Presidents fault
The bird flu easily jumps to raw milk if anyone cares about science.
The problem... Most people are partisan and mold their world view around that presupposed premise. Facts are just facts... they have no political affiliation. Facts can only be no partisan. Facts can not be alternative. I mean... what would happen to all those crooked ass liberals if gravity decided that it is now maga?
I promised someone a picture of breakgast, and here it is :). This is for 120 pictures in 2020 #109 "Toast and.....". The toast is 12 grain (mostly whole wheat), the eggs are scrambled with a mix of red and yellow bell peppers, poblano chiles, and onion. It goes without saying that they are seasoned with a bit of crushed red pepper for a daily dose of capsaicen. The sausage is unfortunately store-bought, as I haven't had time since our move to make a batch of homemade. I like to have a bit of fruit as well, in this case a few red grapes.
