The World Bank conducts the Mid-Term Review for the Landscape Approach to Forest Restoration and Conservation (LAFREC).
This exercise- conducted from February 1 to February 8, 2018- included meetings with implementing stakeholders and partners and field visits to some of the activities implemented under the project.
In this set of pictures, the Team assists to a football match organized as part of LAFREC Community Education Programme. LAFREC is targeting mass events- such as football matches- to convey messages on conservation, proper environment management and efficient use of natural resources.

On Sunday, over 60 volunteers in Salem participated in 350.org's 10/10/10 Global Work Party, "a day to celebrate climate solutions" by planting trees on Harbor St. and Jefferson Ave. and weatherizing a home to make it more energy efficient, while children from the First Universalist Church and the First Church made environmentally themed banners and artwork on the Common. The event was organized by Salem Alliance for the Environment and Salem's Renewable Energy Task Force, which will be doing more home weatherizations over the coming year.

The blinds in that room weren't very efficient at blocking light, but I've come to notice recently that I really don't mind, in fact I like it much better. (yeah... i'm kinda you know... scared of the dark at times when I've seen silly movies like the shining, ringu, that clown thing 'it'...)
The really good thing is that it would wake me up quite early, I would turn around, see the morning light on all those fantastic buildings right outside my window (mostly the ESB and the radiator building - the back and gold one), then go right back to sleep for a few more hours. I've many times thought I really ought to get up and take pictures because it's the best light, but I never quite got round to it - we're talking 6am!! ...
