This is an oversimplification, but it gives the basic idea. Every energy transfer loses energy. The percentage of energy that does what you want is something worth looking at. The controversy of switching light bulbs seems to have passed, but when Republican President Bush and the Democratic Congress in the mid 2000s were looking at ways to decrease the US dependence on outside energy sources, phasing devices that wasted 90% of the energy put in seemed like a good place to start. There was an outrage over this, partly because the transition technology of compact fluorescent bulbs wasn't great, but with the advent of LED bulbs it seems that most are thrilled for the switch and the 75% reduction in energy use.
Internal combustion engines like we have in cars are also very inefficient, but there are physical laws that prevent them from getting much better (see Carnot's law.) Fuel economy has been increased enormously in recent years, however, because there's many other things that can be tweaked to increase efficiency (lightening weight, improving aerodynamics, etc)
As part of his 2009 TogetherGreen Fellowship, Tremaine Phillips is helping to bring energy efficiency to the people of Lansing, Michigan. Through energy effciency workshops and demonstrations to conducting energy audits, Tremaine believes that attendees can learn to save energy and money, too!

Constancy and high thermal efficiency have always been two strong points of Dalla Corte espresso machines. The confirmation came in Maastricht, our forecast was even exceeded. In fact, six more companies underwent the machine thermal stability test conducted by the World Coffee Event, with independent groups machines: La Cimbali, Astoria, Rancilio, Unic, La Nuova Simonelli and Victoria Arduino. Luckily the long experience matured in many years of research and development and the improvement of our technologies allow us to remain the leaders in this field in terms of quality, thermal constancy, energy saving and functionality. Today, just like yesterday, we firmly believe in continuous research, in the promotion and diffusion of the espresso culture, therefore in a free-standing quality: a heritage of know how and experience that allows us to trustingly answer to the competition announcement for the sponsorship of the barista championships of the next triennium”.

October 12, 2011, Albany - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announces transformative steps that his administration is taking to change the way state government does business in order to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
The reforms will focus on five specific areas, including transforming the procurement process by harnessing the state's full buying power to reduce costs, eliminating costly empty space leased by the state, modernizing information technology systems, improving customer service, and streamlining business services. These reforms are expected to save taxpayers $600 million in all funds over five years including $100 million in all funds over the next fiscal year.

Rwanda’s Ministry of Environment, UN Environment through the Ozone Secretariat and United for Efficiency, and the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program have hosted a group of environmental experts, philanthropists, business leaders, international NGOs and government representatives to mark the adoption of the Amendment and strategies to ensure its long term success. The event took place on 28 January 2019 at the Marriott Hotel, Kigali. The event recognised the work Rwanda has done to meet its obligations under the Kigali Amendment. These efforts, which have been possible thanks to the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program and UN Environment's United for Efficiency, include conducting a market assessment, developing a national cooling strategy and minimum energy efficiency standards, and creating financial tools to support businesses to invest in efficient cooling.
First test of the turbine on 14 white LEDs, showed that above 100 mA (total), LEDs doesn't increased brightness linear with increasing current as expected.
At one point, current still increase but resistance/impedance of the generator is pretty high to supply that current without loses at generator itself (overheating coils).
It is not so obvious from brightness of the LEDs, but it is obvious by looking at frequency vs. current intensity.
Some data still missing - not much wind past few days to check all possible wind speeds, and all possible measurements.
I am expecting similar situation with accumulator battery charging. Those LEDs has threshold about 2.5V (not sure exactly), and below that voltage, no current flow at all.
Exactly that will happen with battery charging, but it will depend of how empty or full battery is.
So, proper electronic have to be made in order to maintain proper current and protect against overload/overcharge for both: generator and accumulator.

At the Solar Works! Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum
The bombing efficiency of the 491st BG was the highest in the Second Air Division from September 1944 through December 1944, From January 1945 through March 1945 the 491st led the Entire Eighth Air Force with 91% of their bombs in the 2,00 foot circle.
"No other group was ever committed to action so fast, and flew so many missions in so short a time, achieving such fine results." (Brigadier General Leon Johnson, 14th CBW commander and Medal of Honor recipient for heroism while leading the 44th BG raid on Ploesti Rumania.)
The Formon Crew flew Lookin Good on a number of missions between December 1944 and April 1945. Of all the ships they flew during this period she was considered "the best and more importantly, the luckiest." This fact was born out almost too well during a low level "milk run" supply drop mission to Wesel Germany on March 24 1945. With Lookin Good stood down for maintenance, they were assigned to fly the B-24J She Devil. The Formon Crew was leading a 3 ship formation with the Wilson crew on right wing and the Fox Crew on left. Flying at 50 feet, all three ships took direct hits from 20mm ground fire. The Fox and Wilson Crews could not recover and flew into the ground with no survivors. The Formon Crew took a direct hit in the bomb bay and suffered major battle damage. Miraculously they were able to limp back to England and successfully land the stricken bomber at Manston emergency air field. She Devil never flew again. On their next mission they were thankfully back to flying Lookin Good.
The Root Crew found Lookin Good to be quite lucky as well, as narrates John Paller, copilot-pilot. "It happened in late November or early December 1944. We were flying Lookin Good on a race track course homing on the buncher beacon. I was flying the plane leaning to the left to better see the flight instruments in front of the pilot, Don Root. Don was looking around when suddenly he grabbed the controls and turned sharply left. It happened so fast that all I recall, very vividly, is Lookin Good standing on her left wing and Sweet's airplane on its right wing, above us, less than 100 feet away Thanks Don, for saving us from a mid air crash.
