We just spent the day at Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area with 13 Missouri River Community Network AmeriCorps members! We started the day by learning about the Missouri River (with the river bank as our classroom), we went for a hike, and after lunch we watched a film about Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area. We also toured a wetlands unit and Columbia’s Waste Water Treatment Plant. We centered the program around the Missouri River in Columbia, but we hope the AmeriCorps members will be able to transfer the skills they learned throughout their work as garden educators in the next year. Everyone was so curious and engaged, so we can’t wait to see the work these individuals are going to do at non-profits throughout Missouri.

A gathering of creative minds. Academics from Cranbrook Art Museum, Detroit Institute of Art, The George Washington University Museum and other cultural institutions visited Dabls MBAD African Bead Museum, for a tour of the art installations and to learn about the history of African beads. On Saturday, January 27, 2024, 300 early educators from across Sarasota County gathered at Suncoast Technical College in Sarasota to experience a morning filled with education, empowerment and enlightenment. Offering a diverse array of workshops, the professional development event focused on creating and strengthening positive teacher-child interactions.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to the field, our conference caters to all. Saturday’s immersive experience was designed for preschool directors, preschool teachers as well as those
working with little ones at local businesses and community-based nonprofits. The goal is for them
to gain valuable knowledge, discover new strategies, and exchange insights with peers.
