MRCN Workshop, August 9, 2018
We just spent the day at Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area with 13 Missouri River Community Network AmeriCorps members! We started the day by learning about the Missouri River (with the river bank as our classroom), we went for a hike, and after lunch we watched a film about Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area. We also toured a wetlands unit and Columbia’s Waste Water Treatment Plant. We centered the program around the Missouri River in Columbia, but we hope the AmeriCorps members will be able to transfer the skills they learned throughout their work as garden educators in the next year. Everyone was so curious and engaged, so we can’t wait to see the work these individuals are going to do at non-profits throughout Missouri.
