More than 250 participated in the first annual Superintendent’s Fitness Challenge 5K Fun Run on May 5, 2012. Superintendent of Public Instruction Larry K. Shumway has challenged the educational community to get fit this school year. It’s an effort to encourage educators to embrace fitness as a way to improve brain function and overall health and to provide a good example for Utah’s youth.

El Museo del Barrio invited educators to see the newly renovated facilities, including two exceptional inaugural exhibitions: VOCES Y VISIONES: Four decades through El Museo del Barrio's Permanent Collection, and NEXUS NEW YORK: Latin/American Artists in the Modern Metropolis in Manhattan Nov. 12, 2009. The educators enjoyed delicious hors d?oeuvres, sangria, met the education staff and learned about the rich cultural resources El Museo has to offer through our new and exciting Education and Public programs.( Carucha L.
