December 2010 Lunar Eclipse (rare occurrence during the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere), photographed between 4:45 a.m. to 5:50 a.m. The totality phase was hidden by a neighboring building and, frankly, I was lazy enough to stay at home with my pijamas without finishing the sequence (specially considering the street lamps would ruin the final shots). I will try again in 2094.
"The lunar eclipse of 21 December 2010 took place in the night of the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere, which corresponds to the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere. It is a rare eclipse. If we inspect the list of eclipses of the last 2000 years, only one was found to coincide with the date of the solstice: the eclipse of December 21, 1638. Hopefully we will not have to wait 372 years to attend the next eclipse in the same conditions: it will occur in December 21, 2094, 84 years from now " (Source: Ronaldo Mourão).

86% and cloudy here in North Carolina, but made for some wonderful photography.
Filter was too little when largely visible, too much when largely eclipsed, finally gave up and went from M to Av.

I didn't see any squirrels with blood red eyes and the voice of impending doom (for instance) during the eclipse today (August 21, 2017), but it did make these trees go all weird.

I went out to shoot the lunar eclipse only to find that my view to the West was obscured by clouds.
This shot was among the only ones with the moon directly visible, and by this time the eclipse was all over. Two frames after this, my battery died. By the time I got the new one in, the moon was gone again. It just wasn't fated for me to get 'the' shot this time.
