When you spend all morning *trying* to get your cell phone fixed and don't have time to tweak your eclipse plan due to weather, then run into several thunderstorms and only see a portion of the eclipse you've been really excited about, Lady Luck turns her eye on you and at least you get a sweet selfie out of the deal. #eclipse2017
This image was digiscoped using a Zeiss 85mm Diascope at 20x and a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W300 camera. The scope was equipped with a solar filter using Baader Planetarium's Safety Film.
From the field behind the house, Crediton Devon.
G15 with super zoom and a 0.6 ND filter held in front of the lens. All hand held.
ECLIPSE (Economic Compact Lightweight Pointer-tracker SystEm) is a stabilised, two-axis pointer tracker designed for use as part of the Directed InfraRed Counter Measure (DIRCM) System. The design capitalises on SELEX Galileo’s existing DIRCM pedigree, formulated through the design and delivery of over 1000 combat-proven transmitters to Northrop Grumman Corporation for use in its AN/ AAQ-24(V) NEMESIS DIRCM system.
