My effort at showing today's partial eclipse. Taken using a total of stacked 32 stops of ND filters.
As seen in the clear skies of the West Midlands 20-3-15.
Learners from Montagu Gift Primary School in Grassy Park as well as
home-schooled learners from around the Western Cape joined the MTN
Sciencentre for safe eclipse viewing from the rooftop parking area of Canal
Walk shopping centre. Two telescopes were set up, one looking directly at
the sun and the other projecting the image of the eclipse on a white screen.
Eclipse viewers were also passed around and the 65% partial eclipse visible
from Cape Town was truly spectacular.

This image was created with 14 bracketed exposures 1EV apart. Each exposure was manually aligned and stacked in Photoshop. Exposure values for a 400mm lens, ISO 100, and F/5.6 were preset from the guide at www.mreclipse.com/SEphoto/SEphoto.html Thus my shutter speed was from 1/4000 to 2 seconds.
We met family and friends for the eclipse in Nebraska. The people in Nebraska were wonderful and welcoming It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit.

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse 28-09-2015 .... going dark.
Stage 1: Penumbral eclipse begins when the penumbral part of Earth's shadow starts moving over the Moon (not easily seen by the naked eye).
Stage 2: Partial eclipse begins when the Earth's umbra starts covering the Moon, making the eclipse more visible.
You know the eclipse is over because the ladies are putting their foodstuffs out to dry in the sunshine.
