n the fleeting chaos of the city, this moment caught my eye. a man, sharply dressed, walking past without realizing his reflection was captured in a thin film of water on the street. the soft blur of the surroundings blends with the crispness of the reflection, creating a visual contrast that speaks to the tension between movement and stillness. the architecture behind him, echoing the grand facades of paris, merges seamlessly into his mirrored image, making it unclear where the man ends and the city begins. it’s a brief, poetic moment of connection between man and metropolis.

Echo in the park pre-super bowl Sunday. Glad "our" team won.

Echo is enrolled in two classes right now and with all her walks everyday we are super busy. I'll try to visit your stream when time allows. Happy Feb!

To stand with you again, to dance with you again. Always.

A beautifully spirited realm in every way. A safe space for some poignant remembering and peace.

From Wikipedia.

The original Oregon Trail passed just south of Echo. When the Columbia Plateau Route opened in 1847, it passed directly through Echo, crossing the Umatilla River. This eventually became the primary route of the Oregon Trail. Frequently pioneers would stay in Lower Crossing Camp, also located in Echo (the Upper Crossing being at Pendleton). In the 1860s, settlers began moving into the area, and built a ferry crossing the Umatilla River at Echo. The city of Echo is named after Echo Koontz, daughter of JH Koontz and W (Brassfield) Koontz, who were town promoters. Agriculture was the first draw, with alfalfa and corn being the main crops. A town was platted by 1880, and the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company built a railroad through the Echo by 1883, which made the town a shipping point for wool, cattle and sheep during the early 1900s. Echo was incorporated in 1904.

The new Lightroom's Select Subject masking tool is pretty amazing, it makes it simple to make adjustments only to Echo, or to everything that is *not* Echo. Looking forward to trying LR's new masking tools some more this summer.

The rain was pouring today when I went to visit this place, known for its wildflowers and the greenery. The trail was muddy and steep at places, but it was worth the effort. There were a lot of wildflowers at the top, and the meadows were exceptionally green...

"Christine had a hunch this was going to be much more than a plain vanilla day. There was a tangible excitement in the air. Something good was spinning, and the elephant who chaired the event wanted much the same."

An enthusiastic group from our local photo-club gathered last weekend for a Sunday shoot at a regional park under warm sunshine skies. I realized I've never posted anything from this gorgeous river valley family setting with an historic farm house and animals only ten minutes from city centre. Needless to say my mind was whirling like a pinwheel.

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend filled with camera wishes!

Happy first day of Autumn. Echo goes to "classes" three times a week......obedience/ agility/ and sheep herding. On the other days, she has play dates with my brother's dog Snickers and goes on hikes with dogs she's met from her classes. It is still a busy time for me. I hope you are all doing well. I try to "lurk" at your stream whenever possible. Wish I had time to leave comments.

Happy holidays all! Echo is ready for Santa!

fuck. i'm out of film.

Echo is pretty much full grown now. She's matured in many ways but still a puppy at heart. This was taken today at a park near my home.

I hope you're all enjoying Spring and having a great April.

Collecting Echoes

Glass works its reflective magic as it collects and series of shapes and bends them anew. They gather, forming a pattern of delight. Metal pathways are and sweep through the frame - roadways of sorts for my eye to follow. A touch of warmth and a hint of cool add a feeling of life - a type of motion perhaps - to this abstract study of space. Spatial relationships are intentionally absent. This isn't about seeing something specific. It's about feeling it.

Echo Lake is right at the base of where you can travel up to the top of Mt Evans which towers above 14k feet. This lake itself sits above 10k and was some of the most unique scenery I've ever come across.

(I can't leave pics untitled anymore, after Georgia pointed out the fact that they in fact will be entitled "untitled" now as opposed to earlier when the caption was left blank if you didn't write anything... but I wish I didn't have to come up with stuff for the titles all the time, I am not very good at it when forced...)
