So apparently not ONLY is Echo still alive, but he was to return in season 7 (Most likely with Gregor?) in an Experimental Commando story Arc.

Echo at the pumpkin farm yesterday out in the country a few miles from my cat colony. She's doing really well with her "sit/ stay" command.
But she ate tons of pumpkin seeds, mushy pumpkins and everything else out in the field.
While driving around with Echo this bench surrounded by all the leaves caught my eye so I pulled over and *asked* Echo to pose. She loves sitting on benches so it was easy to take a bunch of pics. I really love this time of year with the leaves carpeting the ground like this.

Königssee is an elongated mountain lake in the Berchtesgaden area in southeastern Bavaria. Since the Königssee is nestled between steep mountain slopes, it is described as a fjord-like. Famous is the echo of Koenigssee. During the trip by boat the coxswain is demonstrating to the guests with a flugelhorn or a trumpet the impressive echo from the Echowand (echo rock wall). You can hear it one-way or rarely twice.

She get's an A+ for great social skills. Teething/biting is better. Potty training is going well --fewer and fewer accidents. But daytime crate training proves to be difficult...mainly because she wants to be with us all of the time. Today we tried leaving her in the crate and going outside so she'd be alone in the house. Not good. Puppy class teacher gave me homework on how to make it better.
Well, between taking her for her morning hike, taking her out for socialization, and keeping her tethered to me for potty training---putting her in and out of the crate a dozen times a day until she get's comfortable with it just seems daunting. How on earth do people who work full time train their puppies? I'm retired and it eats up my entire day. Not complaining.....just sayin'.

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air

Strangers passing in the street

And help me understand the best I can

And no-one forces down our eyes

Come streaming in on sunlight wings

For the Macro Monday theme "Lit by candlelight" (December 2nd 2013)
I found these fragile, dry remains of the white lace-cap hydrangea in the garden - a poignant echo of their summer glory. The flowers are just about 1" diameter. I have used up to 8 candles of varying heights. The shots are all pretty well SOOC - Photoshop has only been used to crop a shot, resize it (the uploader won't take my full size photos ever since the 'new improved' Flickr) and to add a signature. No post processing at all ;o)

Exactly one year ago, 8/17/13, my husband and I filled a huge void in our hearts after losing Jasmine six months earlier by adopting a cattle dog puppy. We named her Echo and our lives changed instantly.
The first four-six months we thought we'd made a mistake as puppies are a ton of work....much like having a baby/ toddler. But we got thru it fine and we just love our little girl so much.
She is now full grown at 14 months.

We made the plunge and are going to be proud parents of this 8 + week old Australian Cattle Dog puppy.
We pick her up on Saturday morning. We are getting her from the same couple that we adopted Jasmine from. They bred one of their heeler's last Spring and asked if we'd like one of the pups. We declined as we were just not ready for a new dog. Yesterday we found out that the [only] female pup was available as the people who were going to take her, changed their minds. We are ready now.....so it's almost as if it "was meant to be".
NO, this pup is not a rescue. I'm not going to make excuses or apologize for not going the shelter/ rescue route this time. We wanted a puppy because of our cats and a dog with a background that is known. The couple we are friends with are not breeders. He's a vet and she's a stay at home mom who has been involved in cattle dog rescue for many years. This is their very first litter.
Expect to see more pics of Echo this weekend. I am so excited....but also nervous, as I haven't raised / trained a puppy for a long long time.

Also: NO dog will ever take Jasmine's place. We still miss her more than words can express but I have been very depressed and needed a new dog in my life.

Made with Echo by Lotta Jansdotter and Kona Charcoal for the sashing and binding. The back is a fabric from Ikea. The pattern is by Sarah from Narcoleptic in a Cupboard and I am finally finished the Stained QAL. It is about 42" x 52".

Walking through glowing aspen trees along the creek the light breeze took on a slight but not unpleasant chill. The shadows grew longer and slowly the last bit of light dipped below the tallest peak. We emerged out of the forest of aspens onto the shore of a small lake. Walking along the shore gazing back up at the mountains where hues of a sunset began to slowly intensify. A small group of deer walked slowly past us down to sip on the cool water of the now quiet lake. Fish jumped breaking the otherwise perfectly mirrored reflections of the pink clouds. Our gaze would not be broken till the light dimmed and a near full moon behind us finally captured our attention. We stayed till the stars were out and decided to head back to the cabin for an evening with friends.
