Shortly after the capture of Echo base on Hoth, Lord Vader himself questions briefly a few of the captured Rebels who couldn't escape in time. It does not take long.

Made with Echo by Lotta Jansdotter and Kona Charcoal for the sashing and binding. The back is a fabric from Ikea. The pattern is by Sarah from Narcoleptic in a Cupboard and I am finally finished the Stained QAL. It is about 42" x 52".

Yesterday was a big day for Echo as she was spayed. She was really out of it when we brought her home and slept all afternoon/ night. She's much better this morning but still subdued and not wanting to move around much.
Glad we got this procedure done and out of the way. ...even tho' it was hard on her and unpleasant for us to see her go thru the recovery.
Echo Lake Park is a park located along the Mount Evans Scenic Byway about 33.5 mi (54 km) west of Denver, Colorado. The park provides a stone shelter with picnic tables and barbecue grills on one end of the lake, and the 1926 Echo Lake Lodge (gift shop and restaurant service only) and an Arapaho National Forest campground are found at the other. Access to backpacking trails, including the Chicago Lakes trail and Lincoln Lakes trail, can be found adjacent to the lake. The park is part of the Denver Mountain Parks system.

City Echoes IV
Wow...where did July go? Last day of the month. I hope you are enjoying the summer! This was taken on our walk this morning at a semi secluded lake.
Echo in the park pre-super bowl Sunday. Glad "our" team won.
Echo is enrolled in two classes right now and with all her walks everyday we are super busy. I'll try to visit your stream when time allows. Happy Feb!

The original Oregon Trail passed just south of Echo. When the Columbia Plateau Route opened in 1847, it passed directly through Echo, crossing the Umatilla River. This eventually became the primary route of the Oregon Trail. Frequently pioneers would stay in Lower Crossing Camp, also located in Echo (the Upper Crossing being at Pendleton). In the 1860s, settlers began moving into the area, and built a ferry crossing the Umatilla River at Echo. The city of Echo is named after Echo Koontz, daughter of JH Koontz and W (Brassfield) Koontz, who were town promoters. Agriculture was the first draw, with alfalfa and corn being the main crops. A town was platted by 1880, and the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company built a railroad through the Echo by 1883, which made the town a shipping point for wool, cattle and sheep during the early 1900s. Echo was incorporated in 1904.

It's that magical time of year at Echo Ridge. Fires are lit and cabins are warm as the snow starts to fall on the evergreen forests. Hear the ice sing under the setting sun and make a wish upon a shooting star.
Assignment: PCA63 - Echo
Deadline: May 3, 2009
Image tag: pca63
From: Tim TheRed
Mission:
Well initially I was thinking the assignment would be "Abstract Concept" -- pick any non-concrete idea and try to depict it.
But that seemed way to broad. I needed something more specific.
Then, along a different path, "Repeated Pattern" was one of my top choices for a more concrete assignment.
So I settled on "Echo". The abstract concept of a repeated or reflected pattern.
Note: Feel free to keep this semantically abstract. It's going to be challenging (though quite acceptable and perhaps very interesting) if you're trying to photograph reflected sound waves. But if you think outside the box, "echo" can have a lot of meanings.
WIT: I've done a couple ghost images before so I kind of wanted to do another ghost as well as a long exposure to get a feeling of an echo...
Reflected sound waves form an echo, and I wanted to show waves bouncing around, so this was my take on it... except there's a trapped ghost!
This is my usual model, Bill, running back and forth across a field with one of my lights that I use for mountain biking at night. 30 second exposure with the camera about 6 feet up on a tripod (yay, I got a giant heavy Bogen Manfrotto that could probably hold me steady if I had a tripod mount.) Manual flash fired from several angles during the exposure. I tried to clean up some of the noise (yeah, the rebel isn't the best for this...) in post - I'm not entirely happy with the composition or the noise, its one of those shots where trying a few more times would get me something better looking, I'm sure.. but what the heck, right?
I just realized that there was no exif:
Canon Rebel XT
24mm
30 sec
f/4.5
ISO 200
I did levels, curves and contrast and +.65 for the exposure in ACR with a bit of sharpening and a +5ish vibrance and saturation bumps...

A mountain keeps an echo deep inside. That's how I hold your voice.

Serenity and peace, hearing the echo of morning birds-A great gift from the mother nature. Please press L for larger image.
Happy first day of Autumn. Echo goes to "classes" three times a week......obedience/ agility/ and sheep herding. On the other days, she has play dates with my brother's dog Snickers and goes on hikes with dogs she's met from her classes. It is still a busy time for me. I hope you are all doing well. I try to "lurk" at your stream whenever possible. Wish I had time to leave comments.
Rather liked the way the odd vertical cloud mirrored this lone tree, taken on a brief walk up at the in-laws over Christmas.

Collecting Echoes
Glass works its reflective magic as it collects and series of shapes and bends them anew. They gather, forming a pattern of delight. Metal pathways are and sweep through the frame - roadways of sorts for my eye to follow. A touch of warmth and a hint of cool add a feeling of life - a type of motion perhaps - to this abstract study of space. Spatial relationships are intentionally absent. This isn't about seeing something specific. It's about feeling it.
