It's that magical time of year at Echo Ridge. Fires are lit and cabins are warm as the snow starts to fall on the evergreen forests. Hear the ice sing under the setting sun and make a wish upon a shooting star.

Long exposure light art, 2018.

So today, while exhibiting the Battle of Hoth diorama, I built a new section of the rebel trench - and learned that a turret in front of the shield generator isn't a great idea. Building at the show was a positive experience, however, as people were interested in what we were doing and it was progressing.

The sun does arise,

And make happy the skies;

The merry bells ring

To welcome the spring;

The skylark and thrush,

The birds of the bush,

Sing louder around

To the bell's cheerful sound,

While our sports shall be seen

On the Echoing Green.

So apparently not ONLY is Echo still alive, but he was to return in season 7 (Most likely with Gregor?) in an Experimental Commando story Arc.

Check it out on Clone Wars' story writer Brent Friedman's twitter page...

Oh, and there's a SLIM chance we could get a season 7 on Netflix. Anyone want to bombard Filoni with emails? :P

Georgia O'Keefe territory.

Kim and I went reconnoitering yesterday.

From ABQ we went north bypassing Santa Fe, through Española, and up through Abiquiú. We checked out Abiquiú Lake and then Echo Ampitheatre on our way up to Heron Lake.

I find the geology of New Mexico fascinating. A favorite author of mine is Halka Chronic, and I brought her Roadside Geology of New Mexico with us yesterday, trying to understand how things here got this way.

The gorgeous red strata are Triassic sediments and the higher, lighter cliffs Jurassic sandstone.

Echo Ampitheatre is just the largest of quite a few similar carvings in the Jurassic sandstone. Ms. Chronic says that when this sandstone is undermined, it tends to break away along arching joints.

In May when friends came through, we had the opportunity to revisit the Georgia O'Keefe museum in Santa Fe. And yesterday we were able to get back up to where so much of her iconic artwork had been inspired.

Echo at the pumpkin farm yesterday out in the country a few miles from my cat colony. She's doing really well with her "sit/ stay" command.

But she ate tons of pumpkin seeds, mushy pumpkins and everything else out in the field.

Self-portrait January 2025 ⭐️ This self-portrait was created with a disco ball, illuminated with a spotlight flashlight. A smoke machine was also used. The light spectacle was unbelievable 😊

This one was a really tricky self-portrait, because I photographed myself from a slightly lower perspective than I would normally do. And the light that fell on the disco ball was almost uncontrollable (angle the light which falls on the glass plates, etc.). Maybe this is an absolute lucky snapshot 😊

When she opens her eyes, there is nothing but darkness, a weightless sensation, as if she were caught somewhere between waking and dreaming. Then — a beam of light. A thin, pale shimmer descending from above, touching her face. With the light comes a whisper. And an echo.

The light expands. It fractures, as if something had been trapped within it. New rays burst forth in every direction, like cracks in a mirror as it shatters. With each new glimmer, a voice follows. Fragments of her past, scattered in the darkness—now gathered in the light.

Echoes.

Unique mammatus storm clouds over western Oklahoma. May 19, 2012.

Königssee is an elongated mountain lake in the Berchtesgaden area in southeastern Bavaria. Since the Königssee is nestled between steep mountain slopes, it is described as a fjord-like. Famous is the echo of Koenigssee. During the trip by boat the coxswain is demonstrating to the guests with a flugelhorn or a trumpet the impressive echo from the Echowand (echo rock wall). You can hear it one-way or rarely twice.

Echo J42 is a young female Southern Resident orca who was born in 2007. Photo taken aboard the Odyssey of San Juan Excursions.

She get's an A+ for great social skills. Teething/biting is better. Potty training is going well --fewer and fewer accidents. But daytime crate training proves to be difficult...mainly because she wants to be with us all of the time. Today we tried leaving her in the crate and going outside so she'd be alone in the house. Not good. Puppy class teacher gave me homework on how to make it better.

Well, between taking her for her morning hike, taking her out for socialization, and keeping her tethered to me for potty training---putting her in and out of the crate a dozen times a day until she get's comfortable with it just seems daunting. How on earth do people who work full time train their puppies? I'm retired and it eats up my entire day. Not complaining.....just sayin'.

Nose to nose. They have mutual respect for one another.
