Easter cupcakes to take to my Mum's house today. Vanilla cupcakes, with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream icing. Topped with a fondant chick! HAPPY EASTER.
On Saturday, April 16, 2022, Bishop David Walkowiak presided during Easter Vigil in the Holy Night at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Very Rev. René Constanza, CSP, rector of the cathedral, and Associate Pastors Father Bill Edens, CSP, and Father Mike Cruickshank, CSP, concelebrated. Deacon Dennis Rybicki assisted. The Vigil Mass included the Service of Light and catechumens and candidates of the parish were received into full communion with the Church.

Averill LOVED seeing the Easter Bunny yesterday morning! He wanted to go again after he'd finished this visit. And he just wanted to stare and stare at him. Too funny.
This Easter Bunny photographer was charging people to take their photos... but she let me snap her pic instead.
The Easter week at Shree Peetha Nilaya was as eventful as it was blessed. The spirit of Christ and His Love was ever-present among the many devotees gathered to observe the full days of prayers and services. It was a week of joy and happiness, insight and inspiration, but most importantly, a week of family and unity in the name of the Divine!

Easter is the apex of the Church's liturgical year and is the solemnity upon which the rest of the year revolves. It was on the first Easter Sunday that the Lord's disciples discovered the empty tomb, indicating that Christ had risen from the dead.
By His Resurrection Jesus Christ triumphed over death, paid the debt that came through the sin of Adam, and thus opened the gates of Heaven to mankind. Thus, the Lord's Resurrection on Easter thus marks the turning point in salvation history.
It is for this reason that Christians have great reason to rejoice in the new life brought to us by the Risen Savior. Salvation has come at last! For this reason, the Church resumes the use of the word "alleluia" which is said with even greater frequency and fervor for the rest of the fifty days of the Easter season, also known as 'Paschaltide.'
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is no mere historical event relegated to history but a living reality which Christians experience again and again each year. It is an ever ancient and ever new mystery that is re-presented each year. May all discover and receive the new life to be found in the Risen Savior.

In 2005 I shot the original Easter Rainbow (http://www.flickr.com/photos/phoenixfeather/37671573/) with my Nikon D70. It has become my most favorited photo on Flickr, but it has bugged me for a while. I love the composition, but I have learned a lot since then and upgraded my equiptment and the focus in the original is not so great. I've been meaning to redo it for a while. I'm not that I'm completely happy with this redo, I may try it again with some harsher lighting and sadly I can no longer find red peeps, but I do like the purple in the back.
