Mmm.. Easter is 20th April; best shop early! Well, I didn’t actually see any Easter eggs other than the usual January crème eggs.
Easter breads are integral to our celebration. Jesus was the bread of life, and the institution of the Eucharist was on Holy Thursday, when he celebrated the Last Supper with his friends.
Bread is such a simple and essential part of life and food, and one that our family has always enjoyed.
I love making it but, sadly, don't have the time to do it often. There's nothing like the smell of bread baking or the taste of it fresh from the oven and still warm.

Easter decorations in the church
Holy Trinity holds deep roots; there is evidence of a Christian community from the c7th, the chancel dates from the c11th, and it is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry (as being from where Harold sailed to Normandy in 1064).
The church itself has three phases to its life - Saxon, Norman and Early English (c13th).
Bosham ("Bos'm") has been occupied since the Roman period, continuing into the Saxon period (with Bede referring to the area in 681).
Cnut the Great is alleged to have commanded the sea back here (less out of hubris, more to show his devout faith).
Harold Godwinson held the manor here, and the Domesday Book (1086) lists Bosham as one of the wealthiest manors.
In the Medieval period Bosham was an important harbour.
The Moai were carved from the volcanic rock from this quarry and then transported to various points around the island. 394 are still at the quarry in various stages of completion making it the "Supermercado de Moai"!

My sons first easter and my first attempt at selective colorization. Taken with a cheap Aiptek p&s camera. Probably my favorite photo ever.
Bishop David Walkowiak celebrated Mass for the Easter Vigil in the Holy Night at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew on April 20. The Easter Vigil includes the blessing of the Easter fire, a ceremony in which the Easter candle is lit from a fire on the Piazza Secchia outside the cathedral. Parish communities throughout the diocese, including the cathedral, welcome new members of the Church during this Mass. Individuals who have completed their preparation are baptized and/or received into full communion with the Church.

Feeding the Rabbits, by Frederick Morgan (1856-1927), an apt scene for Easter. This work is also known as Alice in Wonderland. Morgan was known for idyllic genre scenes of childhood.
SAGINAW— The Most Rev. Joseph R. Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw, celebrated Mass on Easter Sunday, April 5, with the Rev. Andrew Boons at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. On Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus. The Gospel account of the encounter of the first Christians with Our Risen Lord and his empty tomb is read during Mass.
