A great turnout for the 115th Parkrun at Carlisle and possibly a record attendance with 260 Runners. A big thanks to Daisy and her Mum for supplying the treats at the end for all. And of course not forgetting the volunteers who make it possible each week.
Kristy only managed a few shots before her arms gave up holding the big lens !!
The Easter table.
I didn't get very many pictures of the table this Easter, the weather was rather dark and gloomy. I also didn't have much time.
This was a quick shot I took this morning... made some bouquets of flowers for church... using the last blooming flowers in our garden. Autumn is kicking in fast here.
Sorry for my absence... I gave up all entertainment Internet for Lent, but now, it being Easter, I can come back to my favourite websites! I'll be uploading over this week some of the photo's I ttok over the past few weeks, and catching up with my friends here too! :)

Easter is more than a month away..... (last week I was sewing a christmas star.....).
I've glued pieces of paper on a polyfoam egg and then applied a layer of gesso.
Sometimes you've got an idea and don't know how it will work out. I am really pleased with the way this turned out. I think I am going to create more of these.
(I will tag this later).

This is my sister and I dressed in matching Easter dresses, made by our mother, and holding Easter chicks. (Circa 1947) I'm the little one.

Here are the Easter outfits I made for my two littlest kiddos. Fabric is from my Wanna be a Cowboy 2 collection for for Riley Blake Designs. The dress is the Feliz Party dress with modifications (pattern by Nancy Langdon.) The appliques are my own designs.

A fresh spring bouquet for Easter. These little bells are reminiscent of an English country garden. The smell was as sweet as the colors.

the wind kept blowing so it was hard to get a good picture. These are all my tangled egg shapes on display.
Detail of the superb 14th century Easter Sepulchre on the north side of the chancel at Sibthorpe, a rare and beautifully preserved piece of medieval art.
Sibthorpe's church of St Peter has a fairly plain tower and a nave clearly reduced (north aisle demolished, south wall 17th century) but possesses another grand 14th century chancel higher than the nave. Here this is due to the church's former collegiate status, clearly it was once a much finer building.
The interior appears quite plain, but there's an impressive tomb (Edward Burnell d.1590) in the chancel flowing with Renaissance ornament (an odd, almost Mexican-looking skull at the man's feet).
But best of all is the Easter Sepulchre, a rare and virually intact 14th century piece with a risen Christ flanked by angels above a niche flanked by soldiers. The colouring is Victorian restoration, but it helps to give a lively impression of it's intended original effect, a great rarity and a real gem.
I was made very welcome here and believe the church is normally open to visitors.
