On Easter Sunday 1890 my great-grandfather took several photos of the interior of St. Michael's Church on Meeting Street in Charleston, SC. This one of the minister Reverend T. Trapier is a closeup of a longer shot. Thanks to Photoshop I was able to bring out the more subtle contrasts in his face. Great beard!
This and other photos of the church's interior were probably taken Easter morning before services. Also present for this photo shoot is a single deacon. Considering the ample Easter garlands and Spanish moss (this photo gives you some idea of the extent to which the pulpit has been decorated), I think the three of them were probably present to do the decorating themselves and record their work on film afterward.
This and other very fragile, yellowed photos from that day were kept in a photo album I removed from my mom's home after her death in 2004 (discussed in an earlier post here).
I'll post more photos from Easter morning and afternoon soon.
I wrote the staff at St. Michael's to tell them of this cache of photos I'd uncovered to see if they'd be interested in having them for their archives, but they never wrote back. So screw 'em.
The Easter Bunny came by to visit. Fortunately our Gargoyle caught the stupid little bugger.
a continuation from christmas:
I bought all my Easter flowers the other day at the produce store, but Larry gave me these beauties as an Easter gift this morning.
I really love their color.
If Easter says anything to us today, it says this: You can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there. You can nail it to a cross, wrap it in winding sheets and shut it up in a tomb, but it will rise!

Purchased at the St. Elias The Prophet Ukrainian Catholic Church Easter Sale. Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
My granddaughter decorated her room for Easter by hanging plastic Easter eggs from the ceiling. Each egg had a piece of candy in it.
I thought it was a clever idea.
Finished Easter Bunny Mosaic. Vitreous glass and marbles on concrete bunny. The light makes it look like he has white spots, but only his tail is white.
A great turnout for the 115th Parkrun at Carlisle and possibly a record attendance with 260 Runners. A big thanks to Daisy and her Mum for supplying the treats at the end for all. And of course not forgetting the volunteers who make it possible each week.
Kristy only managed a few shots before her arms gave up holding the big lens !!

NOT ALL are chocolate eggs, but only decorative, LOL
Do not be fooled!
They came in a fancy little organza bag which totally seduced me.
I wish you all a very good day and thank you for all your kind words, time, comments and likes. Very much appreciated. Magda, (*_*)

Camp Darby community members gather for the Community Family Picnic and Egg Hunt on April 23. While the adults sat back and enjoyed free food, the children were really excited and anxious to pick up as many eggs as possible once the Easter bunny arrived.

"Bloody Mary" - we had a few.... I made it with very rare in the US "Russian Treasure" vodka, tomato juice, wasabi, Berbera chili, garlic, lemon, lime, yuzu, black and white peppers, togarashi spice and Grey Sea Salt. Beer chaser is IPA form "Town Hall" Brewery in Minneapolis - one of my absolute favorites.
