In front of our neighbors house - HTMT!

人懐っこいアオジ

I haven't had much, if any, time for photography for the past month and a half. So this is an old shot taken back at the very beginning of spring, before the leaves had begun to fill out the trees. I remember it being still rather cold but the sunshine was lovely. Just four more days and I will be out taking photos again! :-)

I just bought this "Scarlet" variety on sunday! Kenny's cousin commented last summer, that there was no orange color in our whole yard... so, with what little open space I have ~I am trying to add some orange!

Sunrise from Popolopen Creek in Highlands, New York looking south towards the Hudson River.

The colors of spring often take a back seat to fall color but are equally compelling in my opinion. I've scouted this location many times waiting for the right season, conditions and lighting, and do think the feeling that I had in mind comes across well in this version.

Coltsfoot / tussilago farfara. Nottingham Canal, Cossall, Nottinghamshire. 30/03/21.

Part of a more extensive group of Coltsfoot growing on the bank of a disused canal. The bright yellow flowers were newly opened, so in prime condition.

Little did I know they would be heralding such a cold, wet Spring!

Seen at Cowell Ranch Beach, Highway 1, San Mateo County, CA

Taken a couple of weeks ago, so I can imagine what the same scene looks like now. If it would stop raining, I would go and find out... :(

Wouldn't this be a great spot for an Easter Egg Hunt?!!

Not exactly how I wanted it, but the hedge got in the way. It did give me some pretty bokeh though.

Rain promised for tomorrow so I shall have to try again another day.

Early Spring Shapes

Taken while looking for signs of Spring.

The leaf buds were thickening, reducing the space between the branchlets and giving trees beautiful filigree silhouettes,

Then three-day summer temperatures of nearly 90F stole the opportunity of witnessing a more linear progression.

Each year I hope to catch the subtleties of this season and weather, being what it is as well as my own lack of getting out at the right time foils my fantasy of catching this magic.

On this day, I looked at these buds and wished for more advanced signs. Today I look out and wish for less.
