... sort of. It's been a slow start here in Ontario. I was searching for a bit of colour in the brown landscapes all around.
There was just enough sunshine and warmth on Saturday to persuade the Crocus to open up in my back garden. Along with the ever-increasing birdsong, a sure sign that spring is just around the corner.
I walked around the Tidal Basin earlier this week to enjoy the cherry trees. I was a few days early for the peak grandeur, but I still enjoyed the views.

Just the three of us!!!
Many thanks to all who takes the time to view, comment and fave my pictures!
Life is emerging slowly, and I have seen almost no new growth yet. But yesterday on the trail, we passed by a tree that was actually in blossom. I had to look high to find uncluttered, single branches, but I did have my telephoto lens on, so it worked out reasonably well. Zoomed a long way out, and handholding the camera against a bright sky on a windy day is not optimal, but I am content to have photographed the first blossoms.

Sweet violet - Viola odorata, white violet. Found in woodland in Ham Hill Country Park. An area beside the path was covered in these lovely spring flowers.
this one is TOTALLY for you! and Lydia, if it makes you feel any better about your view, my backyard is totally criss-crossed above with all kinds of power lines. How many "full view" pics have you seen me post of our yard? That's why all of my garden pics are taken close up and below the fence line. These blossom pics are taken at all kinds of strange angles I have to come up with (at full zoom) to shoot between the powerlines and cables everywhere.
