As always, a photo each day for 365 days. All shot and edited using Apps on my iPhone 5.
The photo was taken using the camera App ExposerGL for iPhone. The original image can be found below.
First of all I used the app Dynamic Light to edit the image with the Realistic Sky preset. This was to brighten up the overall tone of the picture. Next I used the app ShockMyPic to help make the image a little more painterly. After that I use Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Stirred overlay and Cedar Texture. Finally I used an app called Camera Genius to add a Silver Paint style Picture Frame to the picture.
The original photo was taken while waiting to pick up my daughter from Choir this afternoon. It is an image of the Tower of the Old St Michael's Cathedral in the Cathedral Quarter of Coventry. The Gothic Tower and Spire above make up the main part of the ruins of the Old Cathedral of Coventry. This building was the second of Coventry's three Cathedral's and was changed from it's original role of Parish Church to Cathedral status in 1918. The Cathedral was nearly destroyed during the first Blitz on Coventry, which took place on 14th November 1940. It was the most powerful air raid to have hit any city and lasted for about Nine hours. While the Old Cathedral was bombed quite early on during the air raid, it was the fires that the incendiary bombs started that actually destroyed the building.

Turm I, Batterie Todt. A casemate that housed a 380mm Siegfried K(E) Naval Gun, 64ft 5in long, 103 tons and capable of firing a 1,091lb shell 34.6 miles.
The photo is executed in technique «LightGraphic » or «The painting of light», that assumes illumination of model by small light sources in darkness on long endurance.
Thus, all lightcloth (composition) - is one Photo Exposition, is embodied on a matrix of the camera in one click of a shutter.
The sketches very often executed in such a way further are drawn in the graphic editor as it would be on a canvas a brush. Plug-ins and filters are not used.

Working with Dynamic Light (see: William Mortensen) and a portrait length lens wide open, I wanted to see what might happen, to see if I could get a "sketched" look from rather straight forward camera technique. I think these will print well to Epson Velvet Fine Art (matt) on my HP B9180.

I was lost doing something on my phone (yeah need to stop that!), when all of a sudden, Hubz told me to look up and get the camera ready. There was a small carnival in the parking lot of the mall on Route 18. There were no cars on the road behind us, so he stopped (in the middle of the road, heh) so I could take a couple of photos. What an awesome guy.
This one he described as "creepy, like when they're doing a flashback in Criminal Minds and a child was murdered at a carnival."
