An Eastern Sierra lightning storm. It was one crazy beautiful show that nature put on.
Settings were 30 seconds at 1000 ISO, F18, and with a rokinon 10mm lens.
Probably not the usual image taken here usually it is of the 'Lone Tree' and after taken several images of the tree there was not too much more of interest happening and noticing interest in the distance where haze and sunlight interacting giving some dynamic light variations and thought I would go for something of a more unusual composition. To the left of the trees you will just about see Dolbadarn Castle with the reflection of trees and mountains.

Title taken straight from my musical accompaniment for this piece, 'Round Midnight, performed live by Dexter Gordon
We finally had a chance to get out into Terra Incognito last weekend. We went out to support some business owners we know in the Parkdale area, and took the opportunity to have a nice drive. We ended up in Sherman County where this lovely scene presented itself. It was one of the bluest skies I have seen.

in the cathedral of modern silence, a solitary figure drifts beneath white ribs of steel and shadow — each step absorbed by the architecture’s pulse, each line a whisper of order against the vast hush of space.

I dedicate this slow shutter piece to the multitalented and oh-so beautiful Carlein van der Beek. She is my soulmate, my trusty partner in crime, and she brings the light into my every morning.
There is a story behind my inspiration to create this piece at this given time. Rather than distract you from appreciating the image with text, though, I invite any interested parties to read more here.
P.S. The title does indeed make reference to the 1985 film of the same name.
This epic scene was captured near the Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh area. In southern Idaho, east of Mountain Home, the high plain of Camas County around Fairfield is locally called the "Camas Prairie.
The early morning light gave way to some beautiful shadows both lower and upper mountains.
