Early Saturday morning, Work Extra 0900 was called for 6:45 AM, to pick up the 4 loaded P&W stone cars, and distribute the stone along the line. Here, Rob is halting the flow at a crossing.

The Dump (10,000 square feet)
120 Newmarket Square, Newmarket South, Newport News, VA
This was originally Hot Shoppes Restaurant, which opened on August 8th, 1963 and closed in July 1976. It became Virginia Cafeteria/Beverian Inn in August 1976, which closed in July 1980, Frederick's of Hollywood in fall 1981, RadioShack Telephone Center in September 1984 and a Goodwill in January 1994, which re-located here in March 2002. The Dump anchor store next door expanded into this space shortly after.
Thanks again Jim and Sharon for another fantastic road trip. We visited several old Ukrainian churches East of Edmonton as well as this little surprise that we came upon as we were driving down the country roads. I believe this old rusted box used to sit on the back of a grain truck and was used to haul grain off the field from the combine to the granaries.

Class 321 diesel loco 321044 in the old RENFE green & yellow livery sits dumped at Miranda de Ebro stabling point on 27/Dec/2018.
From what I have read elsewhere this loco has sat here since at least 2007 and looks unlikely to be going anywhere soon, except for scrap, if it hasn't rusted to the rails!

Why am I dumping so many seagull shots on my photostream? Two reasons: One: I really like seagulls. At least when they are in the air. On the ground they are noisy winged rats fighting for rotten scraps of vile, stinky garbage. But in the air they are pure soaring grace. And two: I'm working on a Jonathan Edwards Seagull type video. After staring at so many of these things for so long I'd love to get some other opinions on which I should chose to do some Ken Burnsy things with. Love to hear your top 3 to 5 if you have a thought. Thanks!
This is after I rescued some of my favourites. For those who like papers there's about five years of tabloids in there too as well as raincoats, trainers and the first four years aof Zoo and Nuts all waiting to be crushed into the dustcart by the council.

A not so beautiful part of the Funafuti atoll - the local dump . . .
People actually live right next to it! :(
