Drinking fountain, Clifton Down (near the top of Bridge Valley Road)
I originaly uploaded this as a "mystery photo" in the style of the "guess where" groups. I didn't get any takers, so maybe I was right that Bristol is too sensible for that sort of thing. Or maybe I should have started a discussion thread.
This was taken the day after our day trip to Weston with TCV. I'd been around Bristol with knautia, Bingo Little and TCV and when we got to the Cumberland Basin they headed straight back to Southville. I walked down the gorge a bit, up the zig-zag (!) and home across the Downs.

Reusable water bottles: they last all day and they're good for the environment.
Monday Mug: Week 2
Life: Drink it In.
I thought about that a lot this week. Who knows if I'll still be able to hike and bike in 20 years? I know I can do those things now, though, and my odds in 20 years will be greatly improved by what I do today. So I plan to stay active and keep challenging myself. At the very least, the view is terrific.
For a few days this week, my wife and I stayed at Mt Rainier. We mostly relaxed and did a few short hikes together. This photo, however, is from early Monday morning when I hoofed it up the slopes solo. (She wanted to sleep in.) Later that day I rode the bike down to Box Canyon and part-way back up. Sunday night I did a down-and-up bike ride and felt particularly energized by the uphill. (My mountain-climbing is getting stronger.) Then Tuesday afternoon I pedaled out of the Paradise Visitor Center and rode all the way down the mountain and out of the national park as fast as I could (safely) go on the fog- and drizzle-dampened roads. It was terrific! It made me start thinking about riding ALL the way up next time.
And why not? You have to drink it in!

The Philadelphia 76ers Dream Team and Flight Squad talk about why they drink water every day and at every practice.
Drink and draw with the Australians after the Symposium closing.
There was a brief discussion about how big a pint was in milliliters, until someone pulled out a phone and discovered that an American pint is smaller than a British pint, at which point the group teased me a little. But later on, when they realized I had finished my pint before any of them, they decided I was all right after all.
I enjoyed hanging out with them this week. Next time I find myself in Australia, I know I'll have people.
It should come as no surprise that the one on the left is the "light" coffee . We had virtually no service here or I would be able to tell you why the names go with their opposites. Our waitress took our order and then went on break - before delivering the order to the cafe bar. The service went downhill from there.
This is the only photo to be cleared for viewing after my serious night of drinking with V. I think I clicked this on the way to the floor, to remind me where I had fallen from. Glebe, 29/05/05.

For both FGR ("Cheers! Let's Drink") and Girl's Theme Week Live ("All Things Girly").
I don't actually generally like girly drinks, but I'll make an exception for bourbon with bitters and a bit of grenadine mixed in. And I'll make an exception for Flickr. Also, this entire photo is sort of me pretending to be someone else. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
Funny story: while doing this photo I accidentally spilled bourbon all over my floor. One of my cats licked it up. A few minutes later he was staggering a bit.
Disclaimer: I am of legal drinking age...somewhere in the world anyway.
ETA: I just realized I really need to fix the faint red-eye here and replace it. I'll do it soon...

While on safari we rolled up on this water hole with a harem of Zebra indulging. They were so skittish this is one of the few drinking shots I got. Looking through the trees and the Zebra looking up at me makes me think of a predator stalking it.
