The first puma you'll see is a 6 month old female, followed by her mother and brother. As the pumas approaches the water hole, you can see how full they are after feasting on a guanaco. Taken with a GoPro placed near the water source and recorded remotely so not to disturb them.

Turn up the volume to hear her drinking.

The fastest way to get drunk

Zean, the male jaguar, seems especially calm as he takes a drink from a bucket.

Mom bear was cooling off and taking a sip of water...Pretty neat to see.

It was quite hot yesterday so I popped in to the local Super looking for something to drink. I was disappointed by the lack of choices. Whatever happened to good old fashioned root beer? The kind that came in the stubby brown bottle and was all frosty in your hand as you drank it.

Here's a very common shot from Animal Kingdom. Do I get bonus points for night time though?

In other news, Nikon continues to disappoint with no movement as promised on an answer for fixing my camera. I'll be calling them on my lunch hour today to see if I can finally get some resolution. If any of you work for or have an inside man at Nikon that could help out shoot me a line. It would be greatly appreciated at this point.

I'd also like to take this time to poll the audience. If I provided desktop resolution friendly wallpaper's of some of shots is that something any of you would be interested in? If so I'll run some sort of poll to see which ones everyone would like first and make these available on my Facebook page. If you haven't had a chance hop over there and take a look at my first post in a new series of simple photo tips I'm doing. The first one pertains to photo sharpness. As always, thanks for looking!

There is no picture in my files that could possibly 'describe' the sensation of this night.

The full moon, the silence, the group of people not understanding much of the guide who was determined to park and wait in a dip in the road, enclosed by a dam and crocodiles on the left and an empty riverbed on the right. And it was getting darker. And later. And colder.

And there they came. All 28 of them. Softly breathing through their trunks, softly walking through the high grass under the rising moon. They dutifully crossed the road that we were waiting on, to the other side, forming a circle around the little bit of water that was holding in the dam. By that time we could hardly see a thing, just silhouettes and the sounds of drinking and breathing.

This is all I could reproduce of that night in a picture.

Notice the wet trunk and mouths? And the happy faces :))

I am thankful to have easy access to drinking water, by simply using the tap. Because this is not obvious. Almost one-fifth of the world’s population lack access to safe drinking water, despite extensive programmes by organisations like UNESCO. Let's not spill water.
