Life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing; every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves, 'This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught!' Thomas Kempis

The weather front christened by media ‘the beast from the East’ left us with our first real snow for several years, very picturesque, but damn cold. Now the strong wind is blowing it into drifts

Jed, Bob, and Lefty found a large driftwood branch at Morro Rock City beach.

Track to Hollyhill Wood

This trail was created by Mrs Albertina Choules in the woods local to her remote home.

She was tragically murdered and set alight in 2016 during a robbery attempt on her home.

These are the actual colors of the recently painted Cape May Linen Outlet building, captured in the direct line of a bright, and just completed sunset. Fiery!

photo inspiration ... I'm a big Clint Eastwood fan, and driving by a place I normally wouldn't notice (a linen outlet?), these colors reminded me of the scene from his starring role and directorial debut in the classic film High Plains Drifter (1973), where he had the cowardly townsfolk paint the entire town red.

Inspiration is everywhere.

At long last The LEGO Group tracked down and captured the final CEO of mega-bloks. Imprisoning him in a glass enclosure and welding it to an old garbage hauler, LEGO effectively neutralized their last competition. Mr. Blokhead now drifts through space, at the whims of the bored and careless pilot.

Well, here's my submission to SHIPtember! Built in about 12 hours today, it's my first SHIP and measures 108 studs long.

Thanks for looking!

This build started with the azure wheel hubs, paired them with the grey wheels, then the red treads. I was going for a real 70's - early 80's sci-fi vibe with this one.

Trying to take more head shot street portraits on my travels. Happy with this one I took at last light on the outskirts of White Town in Pondicherry, India.

I was driving down the Pacific coast when I noticed multiple formations of birds flying along the shore. There didn't seem to be any particular pattern in their direction. I stopped and started watching them. They were albatrosses, and they were gliding so close to the rocks I could probably touch them. And there seemed to be dozens formations passing me by in both directions. Ten minutes later I realized that the formations were the same - the birds were just flying back and forth along the shore! I'm not sure if there was any particular reason for that behavior, but I'd like to think they were doing this just for fun.

As mist rolls in of the sea a piece of drift wood is left lying on the sand from the retreating tide.

Much better bigger.

The pelicans are presently visiting during their Spring migration. I enjoyed seeing them during Tuesday's bike ride along the lake. There will be a few more pelican photos to come.
