Here's a slick image from Andrés Nieto Porras under the CC-SA licence where the original can be found @ www.flickr.com/photos/anieto2k/15756294108/

I enhanced the sky by adding more colour + created of a dreamy effect by blurring selective areas of the clouds. I also neutralised the strong orange + purple colour cast and selectively dodge and burned areas of the photo to give the mountains that extra pop. This image is now free to download under the CC-SA licence!

Originally taken using a Canon EOS Mk2 with the EF24-105mm f/4 lens, this is a stellar example of how you don't need top of the line camera gear to take the most stunning photos.

Some of you will be aware that this image was selected as one of the 12 finalists from over 42,000 entries for this year's BBC Countryfile photographic competition. On the programme a couple of weeks ago it was announced that my entry had been unanimously selected by the judges as their favourite!

'Dune Drifter' will be the June photo on the BBC Countryfile 2020 calendar. Last year the calendars sold raised more than £2.4 million for BBC Children in Need charity and a minimum of £4.50 from the sale of each 2020 calendar will be donated to the BBC Children in Need Appeal. If you are interested in buying a calendar to support this very worthy cause they are on sale now. Please visit: www.countryfile.com/countryfile-tv-show/countryfile-calen...

Many thanks to those of you that voted and those who buy the calendar. If you are feeling a sense of deja view, I did post this image a year ago but had to temporarily remove it to comply with the competition rules. So here is the return of the Luskentyre Pony!

One of pictures in my Mad City gacha collection shot at the incredible H22O sim.

Caught a drifter just in time before it burst. Working on this project provided a lot of learning experience as I thought I’d never spend so much time in the toy isle looking for bubbles.

Drifters

Oak Island NC

Looking East at sunset.

He drifts where russet reeds convene.

Above withered lotus, dry and curled,

A moment in the quiet world.

Beneath the teal and brown, the sight

Repeats in water, soft and bright;

Slight ripples gently warp the scene,

An autumn calm, serene.

As always thank you for your views, faves and comments!

I have no information about this lone float home that appeared to be tied to a post on the Pitt River.

Definitely not a common sight along this particular stretch of the river.

Obviously a temporary lodging spot, with the future destination / location left to be anyone's guess???

This residence was an interesting find....perched upon a floating platform, equipped with some comforts of home including various other paraphernalia.... a BBQ, patio loungers, adirondack style chairs, ladder, a hose, wooden storage containers, safety flotation ring, an anchor, seahorse bench, table, stool, a few potted plants, possibly a log and a Canadian Flag. : )

I don't know if the platform itself had a list to it....but the house appears to have a significant lean to one side.

I had to reach a distance with my lens to capture this image, the water was unusually shallow, so we didn't dare travel any closer.

It's quite possible this home ran aground while in transit ?!
