So today I had a interview for a higher up position in my company. I had to put in my own style with chucks and a tie. The first interviewer seem to dig it. The interview seemed to go well but I will see next week if I got it. I took this tonight after I forgot my camera at work. I sort of happy with my SOOC shots so I turned to the sliders in iphoto and came up with this.
Eight years ago, my friend Brigitte calls me up one evening and to tell me that there's an open call to all KISS fans to participate in upcoming film shoot of 'Detroit Rock City', a story about four friends and their adventures when they lose their tickets to see KISS' Love Gun Show of 1979.
I like KISS but I'm not a huge fan. Brigitte is. However being part of a movie, dressing up in 70's gear (OK, I was already doing that anyways), I was totally for it.
So, for a few days, Brigitte and I, along with her sister Monique, our friend Rick and others, all went down to the old CNE Exhibition grounds for the shoot. They were fun times, long waits and stealing free food that was only available for the paid extras - not the unpaid ones. The final taping took place in Hamilton, at Copps Coliseum for the grand stadium scene. Brigitte, Rick and I traveled there for the day.
Being unpaid extras, we and a hundred other fans, sat in the coliseum's basement waiting for our chance to get taped. Finally after several hours, we were told that to enter the arena, all rushing to the front to be as close as we could to the band.
Before shooting, the director came on stage and directed a few individuals to move to different areas in the crowd. The paid extras were a mixed of people dressed up in 70's outfits, much like the characters from 'That 70's Show' and groupies. The unpaid extras had make-up, including myself. The director told me to move closer to my right and a little up front, to mix with the non-paid extras. So I did.
Suddenly, I hear this loud-pitch, Valley Girl-sounding voice from my right shoulder, saying, "EXCUSE ME, but you're in my shot!"
I turned around, only to see this girl who was dressed up as a groupie and looked at her confused but very much like this but less scrunchy.
"The director told me to move here," I said.
"Well, you're in my shot. I'm supposed to be here!"
"So am I!"
I was pissed.
Like this scene was going to make her a star. Like some casting director will see this clip, which will no doubt be shown for a split second once edited or found on the cutting room floor, and cry out 'THAT'S THE BEST DAMN GROUPIE I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!!!'. Oh yeah, honey, this is SOOOOOOO your shot.
Needless to say, I didn't move from my spot, and the groupie moved somewhere else for her Norma Desmond moment, which still has yet to be seen I bet.
A few months later, I get a call from my friend Greg and after the usual 'hello, how are you's' over with it, he asks, "Were you in a KISS movie?"
I paused. "Um... yeah?"
"Oh, because you're in Entertainment Weekly."
"WHAT?!??!!?!"
At Copps, while we were all waiting downstairs for our big arena scene, photographers were walking around shooting people. I would always look straight into the camera, even though I'm sure that would piss them off as they wanted candid shots. I didn't care. If you're taking my picture, I will look at you. I guess it paid off.
Now, I'm one of the very few who can honestly put this on their resume: 'Stephanie Cloutier - as seen in Entertainment Weekly.'

I could not resist taking this candid shot. The dog had the most unfriendly look as it showed it's teeth but seemed so cheerful in it's actions and general demeanor.
I just met this beautiful woman last month. She is 95 and until last year was shooting 18 holes of golf regularly. She is in my bridge group at the clubhouse and is always, always dressed better than I was for either of my weddings. She's a fashion plate and a delight to know.

i would like to use Photoshop to get rid of the chair on the left but I wasn't savvy enough to figure out how. Any PS tips would be appreciated.
Some times it's fun to be someone else for a 365 shot.
I'm not normally a huge fan of selective colour but when I pressed the yellow only preset in Lightroom I was pleasantly surprised.
