I love the sun in this picture.

No, unfortunately, it's not my house! LoL! I liked the way the lights highlighted the design & shape of the house! Hope you're all just about ready for Christmas, time is flying by!

As a Northerner myself (as people from Northern Ireland are known on the island of Ireland), I always find the phrase "The North remembers" (used frequently in Game of Thrones) has a particular resonance.

For some insights into Game of Thrones locations and the tourist industry around them in this area of Northern Ireland:

Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Captured during very different times and I have to wonder just how long it will be before any sort of 'normality' returns. I fear it will be a long while. Take care, stay safe, stay at home and enjoy the coming weekend everyone. Thank you.

The Feria of Seville is the biggest social event of the year in the capital of Andalusia, home of flamenco. Mother and daughters joining in the festivities on the Plaza de España.

"Escucho que ladran Sancho, senal que cabalgamos"

~~To dream ... the impossible dream ...

To fight ... the unbeatable foe ...

To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ...

To run ... where the brave dare not go ...

To right ... the unrightable wrong ...

To love ... pure and chaste from afar ...

To try ... when your arms are too weary ...

To reach ... the unreachable star ...

This is my quest, to follow that star ...

No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ...

To fight for the right, without question or pause ...

To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...

And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,

That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,

when I'm laid to my rest ...

And the world will be better for this:

That one man, scorned and covered with scars,

Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,

To reach ... the unreachable star ...

Check out me in Chinatown!

Fuck yeah! Chinese people rock. And old Chinese people are SO expressive in their ways. I especially love how they care to their elderly like they are shrines or temples of wisdom.

You know I had the day off today at work (a rarity, I work a lot). I had important “business” to tend to in the wee hours of the morning, which left me with an ENTIRE afternoon free of kids of crying, bitching, moaning and dealings with my wonderful former sperm that now call themselves my children.

So what do I do? I decide to take my ass to Chinatown in Oakland, California. This fine motherfucker is so cool. Me and my wonderful friend “Nugget” are walking around this crowded ass bitch as seen.

I’m snapping incognito shots of every person that walks by. I’m obsessed with the fact that these fine people can bring THEIR culture into MY country and grow an entire community that is a TINY China.

Imagine if you tried to put an “Americatown” in China. That motherfucker wouldn’t last. It wouldn’t make sense either.

You know why? People don’t migrate to China. They migrate to America. At least they used to, that’s the history of this place. And that’s why I like to live here, especially in Northern California. The diversity.

And now that “W” is gone, I can feel good about saying I love this place.

I don’t mean to get political but the position I am put in to write this now and raise my kids and have the things I have. Something must be okay? I am not a slave. I am not part of a war. I can advance myself if I REALLY choose to. I feel protected and it’s ALL good.

Okay there are flaws and fucked up things that go on behind the scenes and I’m not proud of a lot of shit that goes on ANYWHERE in this world. Power brings corruption, period.

. <----that’s a dot (said a wonderfully sexy friend of mine)

But the fact that I can go 5 minutes away and immerse myself into the Chinese culture that choose to implant themselves on 3 acres of land in a town next to mine is so fantastically mouth watering fuck me in the ass wonderful.

Did I just say, “fuck me in the ass”. Haha.

In any case, here is me caucasian Ryan pretending to talk on his cell phone, pretending to smoke a cigarette, carrying around a laptop I DID NOT NEED TODAY (because I was on vacation) and all dressed up just for this stupid photo.

Do you like it?

It’s okay.

But you know what? I LOVE YOU ALL! (really)

just a couple of travelers!

Granville Island, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada:

Saw these pugs, seated in a cart. The left one wearing a cap, the other one dressed in a motorcycle crash helmet and goggles.

Their owner was a sight for sore eyes too, however, he kindly gave me his permission to take a photo of his little doggies.

Street performers, Malá Strana, Prague, Czech Republic

Couldn't believe while watching this performance. One artist seemed effortlessly able to lift his partner by means of a bamboo pole and the other one seemed to float in the air...

No photoshop creation. This was for real!

p.s. this paper bag is actually my bag of painting supplies... i thought of this idea when i saw it in my room. i walked out with the bag and told kristi and david my idea, and then kristi mentioned i should remove the container of wax paper so it didnt look like a booze bottle. ROFL.

I encountered these two young women today, and their attire drew my attention immediately! I asked if I could take a picture, and they very happily agreed. I told them I loved their choice of garments and that they matched so well. They were a pleasure to chat with, and their smiles made the brutal early afternoon heat seem bearable.

This is my brother's little boy, Hudson. My brother asked me to take some photos of him in this little outfit on the beach during our vacation - I thought he was adorable. Taken in Nags Head, NC. I was so excited to actually take photos during golden hour for once that I wasn't quite sure what to do.

....but he's all dressed up.

It's fancy dress friday. I'm really running out of ideas and props for this!! Seeing as half my wardrobe is olive drab, thought I might as well do something with it.

I had to photoshop this slightly just to hide the fact that I didn't have enough white paper for the background. Apart from that, it's all as shot. I'm having to make more effort with my lighting and it's actually rather good fun!

I wanted to do this shot outside but I can't because I am stuck at home waiting for a courier to pick up my laptop. They said they would be here between 9 and 5. Nice of them to be so specific.

Also, it is way to cold to go outside without three hundred layers of clothing.

Hartjesdagen Zeedijk Amsterdam 21/08/2011 15h07

Another great smile.

Originally Hartjesdag (Day of Hearts) was a festival celebrated on the third Monday in August in the Dutch areas of Haarlem and Bloemendaal and in various parts of Amsterdam, particularly around the Haarlemmerplein, in the Jordaan, and in the Dapperbuurt. On Hartjesdag fires were kindled and children collected money. Later it developed itself into a type of cross-dressing carnival, where men dressed as women, and women dressed as men. A typical scene was captured in the oil painting entitled Hartjesdag, by the artist Johan Braakensiek in 1926.During the German occupation in 1943 the Hartjesdag became prohibited, and after the war it eventually became obsolete. In 1997 a local committee in the Zeedijk, Amsterdam, decided to see if they could revive the tradition. Each year since then, the festival has flourished into a two day event on the 3rd weekend in August.

Where the name Hartjesdag comes from is not clear. Probably it has arisen in the Middle Ages. It is suspected that the name is a bastardisation of 'hertjesdag' (Deer Day). This was a festival where in the forests around Haarlem deer (herten) hunting could be done by the ordinary people, which was normally reserved for nobility. The deer were then taken to Amsterdam and roasted in the streets.

Here are two of the greatest stars of Argentine tango, Ricardo Gallo & Gladys Fernandez, at a charged moment of their dance. If anyone has a video of the event (May 13 2006 in Morges Switzerland), I'd be much obliged to be able to see it.
