There's something about being near the ocean that seems to put things in perspective. It's so vast, and the enormity of it makes us think of our lives, our plans, hopes, dreams, relationships and desires.
Looking at Alaric taking his shots while on the beach at Vero Beach, FL, I was reminded of how not long ago in the grand scheme of things, I had stood on beaches like this and dreamt of the future, hoping for all the same kind of things my nephew does now. Life can be unkind, but it can be kind as well, and sometimes it takes a lifetime to be able to distinguish the difference between the two. What we think we want isn't always what is going to be best for us, and even if it could be, some dreams are just too big and life's obstacles and sense of humor at thwarting us can dash those dreams like waves on the sand.
I have confidence in Alaric's dreams, though. He is good at what he does and is training for a backup career just in case. He's smart as well as gifted. He is one of the wisest young people I've ever known. For some time now, he has actually prayed for wisdom, something few teenagers ever even think of doing!
As the years go by and life takes us away from each other, I will remember this one day we shared, driving for hours only to get to our destination late, eating great pie at Village Inn on "Free Pie Day", (the reason we were later than we'd hoped!) and me learning to adjust the light in my camera well enough to capture this shot, which I will always treasure!
a pic of my dream diary . I have not been writing in it much , because I have been having school dreams, which are boring . Like today i had a dream that I came to school , but i didn't have my new class schedule so i was just sitting waiting for the counselor to find out my classes ,(i'm worried that one the first day of school my counselor won't let me get out out college biology which i don't need anymore ) but the cousler never came and i just sat in the hallway all day . That is extremely boring.
I have about 63 dreams in my dream diary and i've been writing in it for 2 years or so , only the interesting dreams go in there ,i don't add in nightmares . I have also been having nightmares because we have had a heatwave , i had a dream that i was playing guitar hero for my life and every-time i would mess up this purple poison would spill into the room and it felt like fire where ever it touched . That ended badly cuz i'm bad at guitar hero .

Info on the match : Avant le debut du match, le directeur general a annonce que si la Dream Team gagnait en moins de 5 minutes, elle obtiendrait une chance pour le titre. Alors qu'ils ont a peine reussi a le faire, Joey a declare que ce ne serait jamais un titre par equipe, mais un simple contre ZAG pour le titre europeen !
Voordat de wedstrijd begon, kondigde de GM aan dat als Dream Team binnen 5 minuten zou winnen, ze een titel zouden krijgen. Toen ze daar op de valreep in slaagden, zei Joey dat het geen kans op de tag team titles zou zijn, maar een singles match voor ZAG's European title!
Before the match started, the GM announced that if Dream Team win in under 5 minutes, they would get a title shot. When they just barely managed to do so, Joey said that it was never going to be a tag team title shot, but a singles one for ZAG's European title!

I've been itching lately to do a diptych...but none of the images I currently have in my 'post to Flickr' folder lend themselves very well to such a project. So I had to dig back... and back, and back. The image on the right, of the lilac branch, isn't all that ancient - it's from the spring/summer of 2006. The image on the left, however, is from 2003. It's me, but a five-and-a-half year younger version of me.
Anyway. I do love diptychs. They're like minature stories, in the form of photos instead of words. I need to dream up more of them.
Oh, and, I'm not really ready for spring yet. I just have dreams of it sometimes. The flowers, the blooming cherry trees, the thick, soft green grass... ahh.
Dreams & Reality they both lead to each other.. Reality start with a dream.. Dream ends with reality.. :'')
