Got to a bit of a dark place with my hair at this point. I may have mentioned before having an underactive thyroid, and one of the symptoms is hair loss. I was finding the hair on the top of my head becoming thinner, and the sections between the locs were more noticeable. So I took the decision to remove the locs from the crown of my head in the hope it would look a little thicker with the loose coverage, and in turn make me feel better about myself. It's taken a little getting used to... the width of my ponytail is now significantly narrower, and because I teased the roots out carefully rather than just cutting and brushing, I now have quite wispy hair of varying lengths that has a tendancy to not want to lie flat. Back to having messy hair in the mornings again.
Me - first thing in the morning. This is an old sock hat that I cut the end off of...it keeps my hair from sticking out all over the place. I sectioned the very bottom of the back of my head recently, and added three more at the very top of where my bangs were (but they were much longer than my true bangs). Total count of dreads is now 58.
Inside your mind is a wall
The wall you created for you alone
Within this wall you are protected
You will never be rejected
Negativity is not accepted
Reaches inside
Walk through the side door
Many compartments
Many ways of going blind
Many ways to hide
Connecting with your divine
Is oh so very fine
Dressing up is fun, once in awhile. And I adore that skirt. It actually came from my sister's closet. Thank you Jenny.
I counted the years on my calendar
Marking each brave new step
Toward perfection of the zen being
I won your heart in many ways
But oh did I pay
So greatly and dearly
Beneath a tree sitting and breathing
Listening in between the lines
Smiling on some days
Stormy on others
Can we not share
Would you dare
To see us clearly
The ghost of you
Peeps in my dreams
Touching my heart
Reminding me
Never to forget
Never to regret
Smile lil darling
Cause I am smiling at you
Darnce my sweetheart
I am dancing with you
Sleep my angel
I am sleeping
Right next to you
Just letting the varnish dry out in the sun on my new dreadlock bead creations. Will be in my etsy store soon.
Had me with you greetings
Had me with your style
Your cunning and confindence
Radiant in every way
Moving into my heart
Keeping you a part of me
It happens so fast
It happens so right
I prepared for the best
I think I will pass the test
As you may know my hair is VERY long, nearly long enough to sit on. I have been wanting to trim my locks to an even belly-button length but my husband asked me to not cut my hair. So I have been experimenting around with different ways to put my hair up as I am tired of my old bun style.
This is just my locks pulled back into a simple loose semi-bun. Knotted loop stopped hair from falling down but it looks very loose and casual. Hair wrap over loose hair in front. In this style hair fell to breast-length and was kept out of my way.
This is me experimenting with doing thread wraps for the first time -- in autumnal colors, in honor of Thanksgiving.
