Dramatic finish to this years July 4th Lake Tahoe pyrotechnics. Photographing a fireworks finale can be tricky - with so many canisters firing, it's easy to over-expose and blow out the colors. This is the last frame I took as the show ended.
Cheers,

With all of our current dreary January days it was a delight to come across this sunset from last October! Wishing you all beautiful skies!
For something to do, I actually shot this in b&w on the phone. I did not later convert from colour. The sky certainly looked more dramatic in mono.

Taken in February last year. I loved the moment and was lucky to capture it. Recently revisited and processed with Hipstamatic.

I followed my instinct, and I included the pole, I guess it was to make it less usual and more dramatic. When I discovered the scene, I shot it 10 times with different point of view.... you can have a look at another point of view in my new Weblog, which is still at the "beta" stage or if you prefer still in its infancy!
Late yesterday afternoon, an electrical storm rumbled down the west coast, across Wellington, and up the Hutt Valley, and it was probably one of the stranger storms that I've seen in a long time!
Much of the day had been calm, sunny, and surprisingly warm, but at around 7pm, the sky darkened ominously, lightening flashed, and (of course) claps of thunder rumbled loudly up the valley!
And yet: in spite of the drama unfolding in the sky, there was virtually no rain, and no wind...
It was, without a doubt, a very dramatic storm!
Continue to keep well everyone, and a big "Thank You" for taking the time and the trouble to leave a Comment...! It's always nice to hear from you, and your comments are always greatly appreciated...!
I always love to capture the hide and seek game between the sun and cloud... Another capture of the game while she(sun) was going down ..
